Great effort. Reminds me a little of when Kobe in the Finals against the 76ers ripped it away from either Snow or Mckie and put it back in flexing down the court. Kobe's play starts at 3:50 mark. Edit: It was actually Mutombo who Kobe ripped it from.
Clearly Dwights fault for the awful pass, he was standing still asking for the ball and Dwight leads him. And of course it's not the "champion's" fault.
32 points 13 rebounds 7 assists 4 steals and 2 blocks Stat line from the Greek Freak. Led the Bucks in every category.
I'm surprised a shorter regular season hasn't seriously been considered yet for a league of such caliber as the NBA . 58 games , no b2b , 2-3 games a week would do it . More rest , less injuries , a better quality of play ...
$$. i've wondered whether simply shortening the season to 76 games might solve some problems. 30 games against the other conference, 4 games each against your division (16), 3 games each against everyone else in the conference (30 games). i'm guessing even cutting that few would limit some of the scheduling oddities that lead to resting players and strategically throwing games. but $$ is also the reason they haven't made the court larger, imo.
Shortening the season definitely makes sense, but it has to be collectively bargained. And the media contracts also come into play. Is everyone willing to give up money? So far the answer has been no, but they are looking to shorten the preseason and lengthen the schedule a bit to have fewer back to backs next year. A step in the right direction.
shortened season even if its better for the health of the players I don't see that happening because that would mean both the players and owners get paid less.
They could easily cut the quarters down to 10 minutes for a 40 minute game. It doesn't affect revenue but could cut down on minutes played per season by some of the top players. Of course the coaches would have to keep their lineups and not just play their star players the same amount of time. It's certainly not as good as cutting down the number of games but it's a start. I know that they experimented during summer league or preseason with this concept.
