He almost did a few times, usually a few short in either assists or rebounds, a couple of examples:

    27/19/3 (08-09)
    28/17/2 (10-11)
    17/20/11 (12-13)
    23/17/8 (13-14)

Magic asked one of them to be a leader. He's responding.

didn't see the game, but interesting that both dlo and luke implied that randle seemed to have more consistent energy throughout this game. must be a talking point in the locker room with him.

Julius with consistent effort = 23/18/6/2/3 in 33 minutes
Julius with maximum effort = record-breaking numbers

He's the most dynamic player we've had since Odom, and I think he has the most potential out of our kids.

    lol.

    1. Odom was the most "dynamic" player we had? Did I miss something?
    2. Yes, you have the right to think he will turn out being the best out of the bunch. Its not not debatable since we can't look into the future and don't know whether Randle will overachieve or underachieve. But he certainly doesn't have the most potential (unrealized ceiling). Ingram and Russell have more potential even though they might never get there.

Didn't Odom play with that dude Kobe or something?

He had a few decent highlights. Not sure if I can locate any clips though...so long ago.

Odom was a stats filler if that qualifies. He had good enough IQ and court sense to fit in Jackson's Tri offense to the point of facilitating in it as a lead. At this stage, by comparison Randle is not there and may not get there... Odom was a valued complementary piece while Randle is expected to be more because of his high draft status.

I'm just saying..if he went 4-11 from the field with 9 points 6 boards 2 assists and 4 turnovers..the hate would be strong today:Noddingyes:

But otherwise..great big game..got the minutes, the stats..and completed the Tank

I was agreeing with you. But sirron's Julius Einstein explains why along with the inconsistency of effort.

One good game does not erase a season of inconsistent play. No reason he shouldn't be playing with that type of effort for at least 80% of the time. I know its unrealistic to go balls-to-the-wall 100% of the time, but even playing that way 80% of the time would be a gigantic improvement over his current effort.

I don't think there's much he could do that would get people back in his camp at this point. If 23/18/6 doesn't get people's respect, there's basically nothing that will.

Just wait until he has 13/13 on Friday. :D

It's not that he doesn't have my respect. It's just that I try to look at the season as a whole and not get too up or down after one game. As a whole this season, his nights of 11 and 6 with zero defense seem to outnumber night's like last night by a significant margin.

If he just got 18 and 9 on a consistent basis, I'd be back in his camp. This wild pendulum he swings on effort wise is my biggest problem with him. Give me twenty straight games of him hovering close to 18 and 9 and I'd start to get back on board. I don't want 26 and 18 one night followed by 10 and 4 the next, back and forth, back and forth. Sure that's an 18 and 11 average, but half our games will need everyone else to play outside themselves to make up for a Julius pout night.

It's because his performance/effort changed from game to game.
