Had to come here to post about Jordan Hill tonight. He's been hampered by injuries for a lot of his tenure here, but if you just isolated his time on the court, he's been one of the most consistent Lakers we've had for a few years now. And he's averaging 5 offensive rebounds per game this season.
14.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, on 47.5 percent shooting while going up against bigger, physically strong men on a nightly basis and putting an effort in every game. He's showed up so far this year in a big way...
One of the very few players on the roster you don't scream " Garbage !" at when you are watching the game
and people snickered when i drafted Hill in the 6th round of our league...i knew he had it in him as long as he got minutes
Centers averaging > 14 points, 10 boards and 47% FG..... Hill, Cousins, D12, Vucevic, Hibbert Players salaries Hill - 9 million Cousins - 14.7 million D12 - 21.4 million Vucevic - 2.75 million (11 million starting next year) Hibbert - 14.8 million Aside from Vucevic, we are getting major bang for your buck with Hill so far this season. Keep it up my dude.
Before I go on my ranting in the WMC thread, Jordan you're proving you're worth that contract this season; you have came in this season, cut off the alcohol and really played beyond my expectations for what I had you pegged for this season began; great, great, game and kudos for a great season you've put together.
Ben Rosales @brosales12 ยท 7m 7 minutes ago Hill with 22/12/1/1 on a 71.2 TS% in 31 minutes. At this point, safe to say that the dude's simply pretty damn good.
Hill has lived up to the "if he just stays healthy and gets more minutes" hype. #1 Offensive Rebounding player in the league
His hook shots close to the hoop are automatic right now, it's like he doesn't even need to see the hoop. It also occurred to me that if Monroe is supposedly worth max, then Hill is certainly earning his 9 mil this season.
Hill is delivering on his promise. He has improved his post game and obviously his reliable open j. Antawn praised his work ethic on T.V and commented how D'Antoni had not given Hill (or anybody) opportunities during his tenure. He is a warrior.Glad to have him in purple and gold.
He's doing exactly what we all thought he would do: put up consist double-doubles with a block or a steal mixed in there every now and then. He's doing a tremendous job. That's the problem though. Now we won't be able to afford him on a long-term deal and he's not the high-ceiling player that can help draw in more free agents. My fear was always that he'd outplay what we can or should pay him and he's definitely doing it right now. It's great for him and great for this season, but I wonder how we can bring him back at a cost-effective price.
His value is looking good right now. We must trade him before the trade deadline if he keeps this up because Mitch will not enter a bidding war for him. Hes a perfect C in the East.
With the signing of Tarik Black, do you think Hill might be on the way out? Who might we trade him for/what are we looking for in trading him?
