Yeah, Olshey has done a nice job. I get the criticism that he received because he was seemingly signing players and overspending; plus, the team has regressed this season. However, he knew he couldn't afford Plumlee, so he did the right thing and got something for him; he added a capable big in Nurkic and added to his stash of 1st rounders. He's positioned him well so that 'if' a trade with a star comes up; he as the assets to make that happen.
Weird trade between two teams battling for the 8th spot . Not sure why you would give up the Grizz 1st pick in addition to get Mason freaking Plumlee ???
obviously portland doesn't want to pay plumlee. i'm in the minority that thinks stockpiling mid first rounders in the same draft is sort of stupid, though. boston (and the media) thought that was brilliant, but they've essentially struck out with that philosophy, imo. i'd rather spread picks out across drafts so that i always had trade flexibility and staggered the youth on my roster. still, though...denver has to pay plumlee this summer, and it won't be cheap. and they have exactly one position on their roster filled already: center. playing jokic with a non-shooting center was attempted already with nurkic, and it failed spectacularly.
C'mon. 2001, Joe Forte, Kendrick Brown and Joe Johnson (who then was dealt for Delk and Rodney Rodgers mid season) WASN'T a great draft?
It always takes me a second to remember who Chris Andersen is when I read that name, because I think of him as "birdman", or more often, "stupid neck tattoo guy".
After Lowry said "something gotta change". Good addition for them. As for Orlando, maybe They can finally try Gordon at the 4 now.
Makes the Raps a much more serious threat vs. the LeBrons now. Great move. Orlando entering the Philly process zone.
Ibaka trade is a steal for Toronto. Ross was an underachiever and their first will be of little value probably. Ibaka, even though overrated, he is definitely a rotation player with impact on the floor.
