When Kupchak had to say Zu's name at the draft he had no clue, first or last name which tells me he wasn't very familiar with the kid even if he saw him once. This was someone else's pick meethinks. Surprised Jim hasn't up and and pronounced Zu "his boy" yet.
There are some idiot fans out there screaming "See!! This is why we should have played him early in the year instead of sending him to the D League." Unfortunately that's your average fan out there.
From the LA Times During the last week we’ve heard a lot about the D’Angelo Russell-Ivica Zubac pick-and-roll. They haven't played together much yet this year, but we got to see it a little bit during this game. Both players had nice nights and the pick-and-roll plays usually resulted in points. “Much easier when you have a guard who knows how to pass on the pick and roll,” Zubac said. “When you set a good screen sometimes you expect to get rewarded and D’Angelo definitely knows when to reward the big guy for rolling and when to take shots by himself. It feels great to play pick and roll with him.”
Great stuff! Looking forward to these two developing together these next few years. Could be dynamite!
Yeah. I don't know why he got 11 minutes and Moz got 17. Still put up 4 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 block in those 11 minutes.
Luke has to play his boys, the guys he advertised before the season. Especially Deng, Mozgov, Ingram. Yanking them would be a confession that they are performing below expectations.
I mean, I guess he has to try and showcase Moz before the trade deadline... But that ain't working if he's not even scoring or rebounding...
I thought he played pretty poorly. He was forcing things offensively in the post and was getting bullied by Gortat. He probably deserved a few more minutes, but he wasn't as sharp as we've seen him before.
gortat spanked him. this is going to happen; he's 19. i hardly think luke didn't play him because of some allegiance to mozgov. he's trying to win games.
I'd be very disappointed in Gortat if he did not spank Zu. That's supposed to happen at this point in their careers.
Another good game in limited minutes. 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks in 17 minutes. Altered a lot of shots too.
He's skilled and his defensive impact is pretty obvious. I really like what he brings to the team right now.
