I agree. Luke had no plans to play him this year. Now he's getting double digit minutes and many feel he should start. Offseason program for Zu: Get stronger Get faster Incorporate a midrange shot into his game He does that and he's the starter.
I think he does too, but maybe lacks the confidence to let it go. But more importantly, knowing how to get in position to get the shot and his teammates knowing it too. I'm thinking of Marc Gasol here. He seemed to take 5 - 8 shots from 8 - 12 feet out a game. Zu needs to develop that into his game.
Zubac has sooooo much upside, loving it. The kid has barely scratched the surface. Floor is Vlade Divac. Upside is Marc Gasol. Maybe even Brad Daugherty! BOOM
i've seen zu make a couple of good passes, but i'm going to need a lot more evidence before i start putting vlade as a floor.
I don't think anyone believes Zu will be the passer Divac was. He's probably already a better defender. The rebounding and scoring is still to be determined.
"A future Kobe" :Feelingyou: Unfortunately that model of player the mold was broken and never to be seen again.
I'd like for Zu to develop a left handed hook a la Pau. I've always admired Pau showing right, then going left completely leaving guys on the floor because it threw them off.
He already has a mid range shot. If anything he needs to work on his agility and defensive footwork because the pick and roll defending is tough for any big let alone a 19 year old nba rookie.
His movement baseline is my favorite thing about what he does offensively. It's underrated and he has an absolute feel for it. Larry Nance is pretty good at it too. Zubac and Ingram might be the two kids saving this team, not the other three youngins. Zubac and Ingram are just smarter basketball players with a better feel for the game which is sad since they're the youngest.
