Time to sit back and open some popcorn! Hoiberg's handling of Rondo's mins have been baffling. Sure the guy isn't what he once was and still can't shoot but he was playing decently until a bad game and then he was in the dog house. He's played sparingly for the past couple weeks, mostly because of injuries. If I remember correctly, they had already signed Rondo before Wade kind of forced his way there.
with rondo, it's always been what we don't see. i was always baffled by why boston was so eager to get him out of town. he looked good to me. but everyone wants this guy out, and usually it happens pretty quickly. he's got to be a complete handful off the court, like, at all times. i'm guessing hoiberg's mistake was not benching him sooner to make an example of his insubordination. carlisle ended up having to dismiss him DURING THE PLAYOFFS.
Rondo may be correct in his statements, but this is a new NBA, his oldschool ways aren't the norm anymore. Regardless he has no high ground to stand on, he has proven that he is toxic to any team he goes to, time and time again.
I think he was a challenge in Boston with 3 Future HOF'ers slapping him around and keeping him in check. I can only imagine what it's like now....
