It seems like 2017 has been solid for Randle so far. He is more consistent and is showing some effort on defense.
Another outstanding game from Julius. He is the Beast. Crazy strong and quick for his size. And you can't teach that drive he has. Still my favorite young Laker. That block in the fourth was monstrous. He's improved in all his weaknesses from last year including one we haven't talked about - setting good picks. He's setting some outstanding picks to shooters after his handoffs. Are they totally legal? Well . . . they are if you get away with it! And he's getting away with it. He's getting guys wide open on those looks. Another one we haven't talked about that is helping his scoring a lot lately has been the fact that he is now earning a lot of foul calls on those drives to the hoops. Nice to see him get that respect. His aggressiveness is paying off.
His screens are most definitely not legal, but if they're not calling it then whatever. Do it until you get caught! Or in Luke's case (and GS's coaching case) do it until the refs stop calling it because you do it every single play!
LOL, yep! Hey, KG got away with murder on moving screens while in Boston and Tim Duncan moved on his screens as well. If you can get away with it more power to you. That clean look he got for Clarkson's three after the hand off was beautiful.
Terrible game and it just didn't look like he was all there effort wise, but the entire team showed that same thing in the 2nd half.
Sadly its a not so unexpected stinker from him. If he can produce in 60-70 games, that would already be big for us. But he really needs to limit this invisible games where he has absolutely zero impact on the game.
Good bounce back performance from Randle with 8 of 13 for 22 points to go along with 5 assists. Pretty much the lone bright spot for a terrible game for the team. He and Clarkson were the only ones who could hit the broadside of a barn.
Randle needs to do less talking and more doing. Every game I hear "we need to do this, we need to do that"...how about just doing it. Last 4 games he has had 3 games with 6 points, 4 points and 2 points shooting a combined 5 of 23 from the field. I'm sorry, even on a "bad day" thats just not acceptable, its just not. When you have 3 stinkers in 4 games, thats just not good enough, it's the truth.
Julius has been pathetic no doubt. Then you have Russell, who's had 3 games with 9 pts, 9 pts, 5 pts (9/34 or 26.4 FG%) during the same stretch, and equally as talkative.... maybe it's time to blow this s*** up.
I still think they are young and that merrits the benefit of the doubt. I'm still more optimistic about Russell becoming a star (probably not a superstar though). Randle is in his 3rd season and regardless of how much he played his rookie year, he is a 3 season veteran. These type of games are not acceptable anymore, he is also 22 years of age. He might just not have "it". I look at Embiid who is essentially a rookie (in his 3rd season) and he is consistently good and sometimes great. I don't remember him having 2 or 4 point games. Just because you didn't play, doesn't mean you didn't "mentally" adjust to the NBA and learn a lot of stuff. For a 3rd year player that is supposed to have star potential, Randle has too many question marks.
