I don't know...He is averaging 12.8 points and 8.6 rebounds. These numbers aren't bad but they aren't setting the world on fire either especially coupled with insufficient defense. Randle has shown flashes...and it keeps people on their heels when they see him take it coast to coast with the speed that he has and the playmaking ability. But until they all come together CONSISTENTLY it really doesn't mean much. He is 22 years old...within the next 24 months we will certainly figure out whether he is fools gold or a star in the making.
He's a 22 year old in his third season, mind you. His numbers are all down in December. Maybe that's because of all the injuries. Or maybe that's the player he is. We have more time to feel him out before we do anything rash.
He never got a breather after Nance went down .. He was just tired at the end . (played 16 mins in a row) Let's give him a pass here .. and criticize Luke as he should be for this and his late game rotations
Agreed. Same with Nick Young who was clearly not getting the air on his jumper he needed to make shots.
Thats not an excuse for me. For the season Randle is averaging less than 30 mpg. For a 22 year old to be tired playing 28 mpg, you have to be a major p****.
Randle out tonight with the birth of his kid, congrats lotus flower. More mins for Ingram with Deng playing the 4? Possible Zubac sighting? PF suddenly very thin. Whoops forgot about Robinson.
Shout out to Julius for a really solid game. 13 pts, 7 reb, 8 ast, 2stl, and 0 turnovers. Productivity.
this line in a win is what i want. especially the emphasized. well, maybe zero turnovers means not enough aggression? i'm not going to nitpick. good overall impact.
I'm still waiting for the shooting, but at least his defense has picked up a bit. He can be a better rim protector than he lets on, it's just about wanting to do it. I also want to see him more aggressive on the glass.
i'm too lazy to look up the shooting numbers, but my eye tells me he's been better this year. marginally so, but better. not hesitating as much, stepping into makeable shots, and hitting a few. still not enough to keep defenses honest, though.
Was a great game.. too bad , jazz played good. But we kinda more so lost it for ourselves than they won. Too many TOS.
For all the talk about DAR and BI , Julius is the one who has had the most impressive games this season between these 3...
Yes, true. He has an impressive game like every 5 games or so. But his rebounding rate is not where I want it to be. He has just 9 double doubles in 35 games. Thats not good enough for him IMO.
Randle is one of the worst defenders I've ever seen. His court awareness is shockingly bad. On the other hand, his offense was impressive. He picked it up right when we needed a lift and worked hard for good shots. And that bail out three. Noice.
Randle isn't a slow guy at all but so many times I've seen him just let his opponent dribble around him. He's becoming really good offensively but giving it all back defensively.
His jawing when he scores is hilarious when he then stands, Hardenesque, and lets someone sprint past him for a layup, dunk, or sneak outside for an open three. He's surrendering 24.2 points per 48 to his opponent, on 55.5% eFG, according to 82games.com
