Doesn't look too comfortable out there. Hip injury seems to still be bothering him, but he is not the same player without Russell on the floor either to be honest.
Creeping back up to his double double level in stats, but his play has slid lately. You'd like to think true star players don't require a PG to be successful.
If he wasnt't asked to soft hedge, I think the result of that game changes, IMO. Julius is a game changer when he is aggressive defensively and he wasn't allowed to do that. Still, miscues, TO's, wild shots do not help.
he might be the most valuable asset, but...other coaches have crappy outfits playing MUCH better on the defensive end. his trade value has also taken a hit in the past few weeks. watching memphis win 5 straight with bigger injury problems than ours has been difficult.
I don't know. We were walking a tightrope and clinging to .500 with all our guys. I mean, we were out kicking our coverage there for a while. To lose the players we did, hitting this little losing streak through a brutal part of the schedule...the only game that I point to and think we should have definitely gotten was the Phoenix game. As for Memphis, I have no idea what they are doing or how they are doing it. I'm not going to look at a situation like that where animal sacrifices must have been made for them to continue to win and be mad our guys can't handle injuries like teams using black magic.
He was on a solid 4 game streak before..on a back to back. Just wasn't his night. Trust the process he'll be hungry soon enough. It's 3 am and about to hit the fridge myself haha.
No beast last night. He got blocked multiple times early, then after the take down from Cousins and Luke's ejection he never got himself together. Signs of life at the very end, but I felt like he should have responded with more effort and heart. He left that up to T Robinson and as a starter that was pretty weak of Randle. I have stood up for him many times here, but last night was inexcusable for me. Weak mode activated. He needs to have some belief in himself and step the hell up the next few games. Additionally his defense has been getting worse and worse during this losing streak and that's very frustrating to see. What happened to the Randle we saw in Chicago who took it upon himself to stop Taj Gibson? That's the guy I want to see most nights. I know it won't be every night, but why not a majority of nights?
We need the defensive effort from him every night, not just against those few players that he has some beef with. It's frustrating really.
Yeah Randle and Lou was a big blow. Guess so was Walton, who motivates the squad more than just X's and O's.
Julius needs to work on his conditioning and not just his weight lifting. He started this game with tremendous defensive rotations and was talking and directing traffic well. He was challenging shots at the rim and rotating out to the three point line. It was impressive. However, that seemed to sap away from his offense and later in the game he lapsed back into a defensive stupor. He needs to gain consistency and he needs to be in better shape. Still, it was encouraging to FINALLY (if briefly) see him rotating effectively and correctly on defense. At least he knows how to do it, now he just has to make it a habit.
Beast, we need him to be this aggressive every game not just every other game or when he likes who he is matched up against. Still hate how nonchalant he is with the ball sometimes.
