Honestly he's much farther offensively than I'd hoped. He makes great decisions with the ball and has exhibited better passing ability than should be expected of a 19 year old. I've seen only two recurring problems: finishing through contact in the lane and knocking down jump shots. Both of those things are extremely fixable.

word. knocking down open jumpers and learning to absorb contact are things we've seen people improve upon many times. his handle and passing have surprised me. i saw footage in college of him working the pick and roll pretty effectively, but i chalked it up to him being so much taller than everyone else. but he looks even better coming off screens with the ball at the pro level.

Key play down the stretch when we were small and Robin Lopez was about to grab an offensive board, BI was there sky high to knock it out of his hands.

Made a few passing mistakes down the stretch, but all learning experiences for him.

Can't stress his BBALL IQ enough.

:Shaqlaughing 2: Yes!! Like what must have happened with Tarik and those "halogens" .... last year that had to be the reason Byron wouldn't play him. I mean even Byron couldn't be THAT stupid ..... right? Had to be bro code personal.

And running and working your a** off on defense in the uber athletic NBA. I was seriously a hell of a shooter in high school. Practice. Till I got in games and had to run a lot. :DNO2: .

One thing I noticed he's often going back to his right hand ( unfortunately back into the defenders arms) when he's attacking left ( and should finish with his left hand) .

Lefties are blamed for theit lack of abilities with their right hand , this is the contrary here for BI .

Need to work on this aswell

Nice game from Ingram tonight. 17 points, 50% shooting, lots of different kinds of looks offensively.

Sad that his best game came in a loss. We really need offensive firepower. Ever since dlo and Nick got injured we have struggled offensively

We're putting up enough points to win most games, but our defense has been D'Antoni-esque

Well, that statement is patently false for the last game. 80 wasn't enough to win games in the ugly-a** 90s.

    That's why I said "most"

    :Shaqwink:

    Scoring 105.3 per game

    Giving up 109.7 per game
    That's tied for 4th worst

He doesn't have the shooting numbers we want to see, but there's some growth here.

    Last 12 games:
    29.5 MPG
    9.6 points
    2.2 assists
    3.9 rebounds
    0.8 steals
    0.5 blocks

    [IMG] ...... Huh?

You wouldn't be saying that if he was shooting a good % on his 3s and other mid range Js that he's able to get great looks with every single game. That will come NO doubt. Did you expect with his height and insane wing span that his handles would be this good at 19 and Brandon have the ability and relentlessness to take it inside every game? Just hard on a lot of those to finish with his sleight build right now bouncing off guys outweighing him 60 lbs or more. The step back once in there and the developing floater will help lots even with that .... soon.

I have 2 complaints: Doesn't hit enough open shots and needs to be more aggressive.

I love his defense. It's really advanced for his age.

I'd still take Ingram over anyone else if picking 2nd again and Simmons was off the board.

I feel like he's been a little more aggressive lately which is nice to see. Probably the fact that he's getting more minutes and responsibility.

Everyone needs to give this kid some time. He's by far the most talented guy on our squad, getting good looks just not hitting them, once the game slows down for him and he becomes used to these type of strong men he'll get better and better. Once he gets stronger in the off season and works more on his nba 3 he'll be unstoppable

I have very few complaints about this kid's development, he's coming along nicely and right on pace IMO, maybe even better than expected given his frame and his mediocre pre-season. My only thing would be to ask him to stop hesitating and shoot/look to score the ball when we are this injured. Normally, he's out there with guys that have been here before him, Lou, Clarkson, Nance, a little Russ and Randle, and he played at Duke, so I get that he's a team player and defers. But when Nick, Russ, Larry, and Calderon are out, and JC and Randle are having bad games, start putting the ball up. Get aggressive when the time calls for it, that'd be my only thing I'd really like to see at this point, but I know it will come in time. Plus, honestly I'd rather have the too unselfish guy vs the too selfish guy, he will fit better next to guys like Russ and Randle who are not shy about getting theirs with his style of play. Positive side, I like how he's gone at the rim a little more, gotten some calls, been taking and hitting a few more threes, love his defensive awareness at such a young age, that length really bothers guys he's guarding.

[IMG] How many years until he's really good?

That's a really long time. I want him to be good right now! [IMG]

[IMG] Well that's just not very realistic. The kid is a 120 lb 19 yr old rookie.

Maybe you're right. Thanks for setting me straight. Good Talk. [IMG]
