Finally got caught passing to a player barely getting to half court. Even worse was that it was to Mozgov, what was he going to do with it up there?

Sigh... excuses are unacceptable at this level. If he needs to play cautious he needs to sit out until he's fully healed. I rather give his minutes to Lou and the remainder to Calderon or Huertas.

    What excuse? Please quote specifically.

He was just asked about his knee and answered.

Benefit of the doubt for me still. Coming off the knee scare, didn't have his A game. But some of those turnovers were kind of disastrous. Needs to clean it up. Hopefully he's at full strength vs. Westbrook. It's a man's league and DLO is still a bit boyish. But he's got time.

He's got a ways to go, but I'm definitely not giving up on him. Turnovers and consistency from game to game, start to finish, are the big issues I'm seeing.

He's got those games of sheer brilliance that just make you wonder when he'll get consistent but he's still very young and being asked to lead. I'm thinking he will grow into it.

Calderon or Huertas should never play any meaningful minutes ... NEVER unless 2 of DAR , JC and Lou are out .

    Calderon cost us a game

You could tell he's still cautious about his knee. All his shots last night were 3 point shots with the exception of 1 mid-range shot thrown in there.

"....playing cautiously bc of his sore left knee"

His performance was subpar even when healthy. If playing cautiously means jacking up threes because he's unable to penetrate, making stupid passes to Mozgov at halfcourt, and getting burned on defense, he needs to sit out.

A "cautious" Russell cost us this game imo.

Russell didn't give up 118 points all by himself. Plenty of blame to go around.

Sure, but I'm talking about how the floodgate opened. Those 2 consecutive turnovers in the 3rd quarter really killed our momentum. The first TO being that bounce pass to Randle's ankle, and then the pass to Mozgov at halfcourt. We still had a chance to win late in the 4th... then he jacks up a three and puts the nail in the coffin. When will he learn to make the right play?

He really pissed me off last night, and that quote of being cautious pisses me off even more.

Gotcha. I didn't take that as him trying to excuse himself though. I think he knows his game was off and they didn't defend well.

I definitely didn't post it to try and excuse him.

Luke held him out of practice today with the knee bothering him.

I think he should sit until he's 100%. No point in risking anything.
