lol dunno about that bs, the ball was off Ross' hands, they started the clock before he received the ball from the inbounder.

They stole 0.7 from Raps on the previous possesion, so no, there should be OT.

Unfortunately the Raptors are soooo irrelevant that it doesn't matter.

I love it every time Minny loses...

This team was sooooooo overrated before the season. And then they got Thibs and everyone was like...best young talent meets best coach. LOL

Its good to see the Lakers so far ahead.

^ Need to start questioning if Thibs was overrated.

Thibs is a perfect defensive assistant ... I'm a little less convinced about him as a head coach .

Sota roster isn't all that anyways , Rubio can't shoot ( plays 30 mins a game , starting 5 has a negative 6.1 net rating , just minus 0.4 when Dunn replaces Rubio) ...

and as of now Wiggins is another Melo in the making ,... does NOTHING outside scoring at an inefficient rate .

Wolves are overrated because some apparently people think it's enough to have three talented/promising young players to be a playoffs team in the West ...

i thought minny was overrated in the preseason, but i didn't think they'd be this bad. on paper, they shouldn't be as bad as they are on defense. i think thibs has said it can take the better part of a season for players to grasp his system, though. we'll see what they do in the second half of the year.

Maybe he's old school and too reliant on "veterans" to run his system. Maybe that's why he ran his vets into the ground in Chi.

A few observations after being away for almost two weeks and catching up on NBA action courtesy of league pass...

Do the Rockets not have a midrange play in their playbook? :D

Atlanta is in a tailspin right now. Dwight is putting up solid numbers this season but he's no Horford. Does not mesh well with Millsap. No wonder Bud has staggered his and Millsap's minutes. Millsap is a beast when Dwight sits down. Anyone starting to see a pattern here?

GSW... hey! Y'all gonna make your bench better or what?

I still don't want the Clips to win... but they look legit. Their bench is much better this season.

Giannis is FREAK. I have him in one of my fantasy squads and if this guy develops a consistent outside shot... Look out league! I still don't understand what's going on with Monroe there. Trade him already.

Denver is stacked with decent talent their rotations are out of whack.

Porzingod >>> KAT this season. KAT regressing I think is more due to Thibs. He's not reigning in Wiggins and Lavine and leave them to chuck at will. That 42 point effort KAT put out... that's how their offense should run.

    good fodder here, gill.

i dislike howard, and i do feel his personality filters through his teams in a negative way. but i also understand why someone would think that--in theory--he and millsap were a match made in heaven. just ignores the psychology. howard is just such a clown.

i don't think towns has regressed as much as his skills are being misused. i hate seeing him spend any time more than 18ft from the bucket. he's got great size, mobility, and strength, don't get carried away with his shooting ability. tim duncan probably could have jacked threes, too...

gs's bench is weak, but it's less of a concern than the gaping hole that bogut's departure left on both ends. they have to outscore people, and that's never been a safe bet. durant's super great, but i'm not sure they're better than last year. look at barnes's production in dallas--it's not like he was crap, they just had no room for that skillset (particularly--and understandably--at that price).

mike malone is doing a good job with mediocre and ill-fitting talent in denver, imo. he did the same in sac before he was inexplicably canned.

houston is looking exactly like one would expect a dantoni team with harden, gordon, and anderson to look. as long as those three are healthy, they're going to win 2/3 of their games. problem is that two of those guys tend to miss big chunks of time, and they'll fall off a cliff (sub. 500) if that happens--because they absolutely MUST outscore you.

Klay channeled Kobe last night and scored 60 in three quarters.

Golden State is so stacked they're basically the Harlem Globetrotters. Sure it's entertaining, but I don't see it as great for the league when one team is this far ahead of everyone else in their conference. Where they can routinely have 100 points before in the 3rd quarter and almost get to 150. It's a little boring to know who will be in the Finals as soon as free agency is over in July. Call me old and cranky at 32, but I miss the days where NBA players wanted to beat eachother, not take "if you can't beat em, join em" literally.

All that said Klay's performance was incredible. When he gets hot he is up in a class with the elite of the elite for not being able to be stopped for a game, or a quarter, whatever it may be. 60 points in 29 mins, had the ball for 90 seconds, dribbled 11 times. It's amazing, but it also speaks to the talent he has around him to allow him to be that open or be given passes in perfect positions to succeed. I'd like to see more parity in the NBA, but this sort of night doesn't happen for Klay Thompson if this Warriors roster doesn't exist close to what it is.

The more amazing stat in my opinion is not that Klay scored 60 pts in 29 minutes it's that he only had the ball in his hands for a total of 90 seconds the entire game. That's incredible! A lot of catch and shoot is what that means

For more reference - which basically means Kobe had to work a lot harder for his points last year in that game:

Kobe also single handedly outscored a Western Conference powerhouse through 3 quarters that surprisingly a lot of media forget.

I think they said he had 11 dribbles total. LOL, that was one easy possession for Kobe.

Impressive snipermanship Klay. Impressive that he has shown the ability to outshoot the greatest shooter in NBA history, but it was also cool to see them root for him as a team. Good things going on there.

LOL, when opponent's 3rd or 4th best player can drop 60 in 3 quarters, and your 2nd year average PG boasts about going to the Finals next year while he's injured and not contributing......
