I know he's been playing great. Adjusting to the NBA style game well, being a good teammate, playing good defense, and generally making the right basketball play.

And I know it's still super early and he'll get to this point eventually, but damn I'm impatient and would love to see at least one game where he ties everything together and shows a flash of that superstar potential.

Like each game, he seems to have one play that shows that potential. A fadeaway midrange that's nothing but net. Facing up and taking his defender off the dribble to free himself for an acrobatic finish at the rim.

But I want to see a game where he strings together a bunch of those plays and shows that he can be a go-to guy for our offense.

So you're saying his presence out there is a positive one?

We don't absolutely have to have BI start, but boy is it nice to see him finish the game! And finish it with clutch defensive plays. I still maintain though that at some point BI will take over the starting role for Deng. I think it's inevitable because he just gives us more out there.

You said Deng is terrible at everything. That's untrue. I'm not going to detail the things he's good at as most of them you probably don't value, but that doesn't make your statement any less hyperbolic.

Honestly I don't really have a problem with Luol expect that his shots have been a bit short. He moves well on offense, he's been a good defender and a great rebounder.

The only thing I have issue with Luol Deng is him missing his wide open looks. Other than that, he's really trying out there especially with his effort on the board and on the defensive end. We will need him at some point in the season.

He passes the ball well within the offense, rotates hard, executes plays well... It's shortsighted to say he does everything poorly. The problem is that his issues have been accentuated by his awful shooting. If he knocks down a few more shots a game there'd be much less issue with him.

who hasn't passed the ball well on this team? who doesn't try hard on plays? everybody on this team is playing at higher lvl than prior year, hell even Young makes the right passes now.

Old Kobe talked about KD's trying to shoot over him. Pre- achilles Kobe wouldn't, likely.

All completely irrelevant to your original point that he was terrible at everything.

Having a player over 30 years old that's been around the league for 10 years and is willing to do all of those little things is leading by example to young kids who may think they're too good for it. The Sixers lack just such veterans on their team and despite having great young talent, they're 1-9 this year.

There's more to the game than a box score.

Was such a refreshing site to see early in the 4th last night Brandon made a few defensive errors, Luke took him out and talked with him on the bench. Then in the last few minutes of the game put Brandon back in the game. The taking him out early in the 4th wasn't a punishment, instead a teaching moment and back putting him right back in the game shows trust.

Luke even said in his post game presser that Brandon:

The sixers are 1-9 because they have 2 legit nba players at the moment...not cause of "vet presencec that cost $18mill a yr. so you telling me if phi had deng they wouldnt be 1-9? this team would still be 7-5 without deng, he might not be causing us to lose but his presence isnt helping us win games either thats for sure
