PG was up against Randal, and drove to the basket for a tough shot that he made because he's a star.

Nance tried to come over for the double team on both occasions against JC and Russel, but PG rose and shot before he could get there to help. PG took a jumper instead of backing down shorter guys because he read Nance was coming both times. The right play was called defensively, we forced him into jumpers 15ft out instead of an easy shot near the basket, but a super star made the plays to win.

If there was anything wrong, it was that Nance was a split second late in recognizing that his man was covered by Randal, and he could have come over a bit sooner, but I can't even fault him for that considering PG took a jumper, which was the best possible scenario. Look at it like this, against Haren the plan worked, against PG it didn't, but super stars are super stars because more times than not, they will beat your plan. We just don't have that developed player yet to go back at him and trade clutch baskets.

There wasn't anything wrong in what Luke called here.

Luke is teaching and the kids are listening.
He must be glad we finally won one after being so close the past 3 games.
At least now he gets to see his old team with a pep in his step.

    Luke trolling Cleveland.

Lakers coach Luke Walton looked at a TV just now, saw the World Series score, laughed & said with a huge grin, "How's that feel, Cleveland?"

LOL I think he learned a few things from Phil.

Agreed... They need to get used to spend a lot more energy on D now aswell ... even if they have young legs , I definetely think it's a factor

Really great strategic timeouts from Luke today!

This makes me hate Byron Scott so much more...

Love that response regarding respecting opponents and keeping the team down to earth. No cliche about showing grit, foxholes, bunkers or what have you... just understanding the team and these young kids.

Collins commented on how Walton is always positive when players make mistakes. Golden State GM Bob Ryan was on point with regards to his people skills being a strong point to his coaching abilities. Well out on the floor during a Durant free throw as the Warriors were on a huge scoring run, does not stop teaching, he pulled in Russell and Randle to settle them both.

Man, the offense looks so damn goood.

Alley oops, the movement off the ball, the open looks, the transition, all in a matter of a month.

Byron couldn't even do it in a season.

Remember those few magical games when we were great with Kobe in the last championship years and he had to rarely miss a couple games in a row one short period and the Triangle was just cooking with all the movement and passing more than if he was there .... and we kept winning?

That's what this beautiful movement and passing and unselfishness is starting look like and it looks great 6 games into the freaking season against good teams. We are a deep team and are scoring a lot of points this year. Talk about progress.

Luke has the composure. Luke has the pedigree. Luke has rings as a player and as a GSW assistant coach. Luke has negotiated favorable contracts for himself as a player, and may be an asset to us in freeagency. Luke has a buzz about him form GSW and may have stolen some of it from Kerr.

As a coach with us, he is an assured and confident presence. He is both a strategist and a player coach who can win difficult players (due to attitude and personality or personal circumstances). He has taken the trench that was our franchise, filled it in and is building and restructuring something special.

We are instilled with confidence because he gives confidence. This train is building momentum.

Is it too soon to sign Luke to a twenty year contract and a small share of ownership of the franchise? I am that enraptured with his performance to date.
