Not the best fit for the Spurs but not their main pb , not having the "abilities" to replace Parker and Ginobili by younger guards is

I can't help but laugh at this scenario. But I don't think the Spurs stop this LMA experiment quickly anytime soon, if someone can find a way to make it work it is Pop. A team of Parker, Ginobli, Kawhi, LMA and Pau is a top 4 team in the West.

I would package Randle and fillers for him though.

very curious about all the rumblings regarding LMA being "difficult" behind the scenes. the spurs definitely would want no part of that.

i don't think the lakers could trade with them, though. they wouldn't take randle (his game would be an awful fit in SA's system--like, can't find a worse fit), and i wouldn't give them russell or ingram.

I've always read that Aldridge was of the high character sort which the Spurs value so I find these rumors to be on the contrary.

It's not low character, he just felt like he wasn't given the whole story. He seemed to think he'd be "the" man after Duncan left. Turns out a kid named Kawhi is there and that won't be the case so LaMarcus feels a little cheated. That makes sense to me.

Meanwhile the Spurs thought they were getting a guy who was over the whole idea of being "the" man. The Spurs don't stand by that notion so they feel like they didn't promise him that at all. I understand that too.

Seems like a marriage destined for divorce.

Hmm, still makes no sense, especially the part where LMA thinking he's a better player than Kawhi. Kawhi was destined to be a Top 5 player before Aldridge signed with them.

don't underestimate the egos on some (most?) of these guys. in aldridge's mind, he's probably better than leonard (and lillard). i am a bit surprised that he may be letting this affect his relationship with the organization, though. he should have known that SA has never been an atmosphere of warring alpha dogs (or even alpha dogs at all). one would think that's why you joined them.

my suspicion was that he was told he wouldn't play center much, and they're asking him to play it more than he expected. THAT is an actual practical concern, as i think pfs that play center open themselves up for more injuries due to all the wear and tear on the lower body trying to fight with bigger guys for position each trip down the floor.

With Aldridge the Spurs are good. Not great, but a playoff team. History shows the Spurs tanking to get DRob and Duncan. I'm sure they'd do it again if they thought their was someone in the draft worth getting.
