More should be made of a 30/10 game - even in the preseason. Only happened 43 times last year, from only 16 players. The youngest was nearly 24 year old Kyrie. DAR could explode this year.

"Russell has a 61.1 TS% on 28.9 USG% in the preseason. The only two guys in the NBA to be that efficient w/that kind of volume last year were Steph & KD."

Offensively, Luke said, 'this was probably his most complete game.' The 3rd quarter, though: IMO, that was the best I've seen him play on BOTH ends in his career. He guarded Affalo (who killed us in the first half) and did a credible job, he orchestrated the offense, scored, and got others involved. He dominated that 3rd.

I thought it was his most complete game too. I can't remember him playing better. Kids definitely on the right track.

And this is just the beginning.

Wait until the chemistry starts to build and he starts to read where players are and pick his spots.

He could easily average 20p/8a on this team with explosions of those 30p/10a games.

When D'Angelo really wants to make plays he can definitely do it. I just think he's continuing to find the balance between scoring and facilitating. He can score pretty much he wants too, he just needs to continue to progress in regards to playing in this offense and making the extra pass when necessary.

Effortless offensive game. A good game defensively too. The only critique I'd have is as the captain can he find a way to crank up the energy of the team when they're a little sluggish? But that will come with time.

He's showing some real stuff here. The national media should catch on quick.

Great game! I did not realize he had so many assists until I looked at the box score. He probably could have had more if a couple people finished at the rim. Keep it up DLo!

I think a lot of the players feed off of his scoring streaks.

Besides Russ and Randle, I'm not sure the starters are a team to really play high energy, even if they tried.

That I'll leave up to Tarik, Larry, and Clarkson (TLC) and the bench mob to spark the energy.

This game looked sluggish from just about everyone. It's the captain's job to get that energy up. It sparked a couple times, but not consistently enough to win the game. That sort of feel for your team and how/when to push buttons only comes with experience so I'm not upset about it, but it's something he needs to develop to lead the team to new heights. His ability to create shots for himself and others looks great so far. Once he finds consistency there, then it's on to the mental side of the game and being a leader.

I also want to say for the record his flop against Afflalo was stupid. I hate that crap.

Come to think of it, and I really do not know whether it came before that seemingly fake reaction ..... but it may have, I think I saw him catch an elbow earlier and you could see him grabbing for his mouth / jaw like he'd been hit. Maybe he could see the elbow this time starting to swing around with the guy's basketball motion and was just try to get out of the way?

I don't know saw First Take today and Stephen A. said you don't draft Russell over Jahlil.

I'd understand if Okafor had played like Towns did last year, but he didn't.

Just kind of perplexed that people still think that was a mistake.
