I don't want Nick around really, but he played well last night. Credit where it's due, but last night he played a lot more like he did when he got that big contract. Space the floor and play hard defense. That's a 3&D player which is always important to have.

As for the weird MCW trade idea: MCW has almost no trade value at this point, but it's still something. Young has nothing of value right now. There's no way Milwaukee pulls that trigger. That being said, I could see MCW sliding in as our version of Livingston. A tall guard who can find spots on the floor against smaller bench guys. The only issue would be finding him a role when there's already Calderon, Williams, Huertas, and Clarkson. That logjam needs to get unjammed first.

^^ Agreed realdeal. If there were a way to move both Nick and Lou for MCW and another young player that would be a better situation. Otherwise not sure there's enough playing time for MCW. But yeah, Nick actually played really well on both ends last night. Pleasant surprise. He's still a much better option than Anthony Brown.

In an even field, it would be tough to pick between the two. Williams is the better scorer but Young is bigger with an edge on defense. I say keep one of them...leaning on Williams at this juncture.

After the last pre season game, if you're a team that's in need of depth... Lou and Young could be solid sweeteners say if you do a package deal with Randle/Clarkson(if not both as well) for a stud SG/PF.

Yesterday you wondered if Clarkson could play the point if Russell is traded. Today it's trading Randle or Clarkson with Lou and or Young thrown in for sweetners. For some "stud SG/PF".

Luke says keep the hell away from his roster and let him do his thing.

Lol. I know the odds aren't good... But I just want a superstar so bad.

You wouldn't want George/Cousins if not both if you had the chance?

    George. Yes.

Cousins. Maybe. I'm not entirely sold on the idea that he has the winning mentality.

I think Walton would get great play out of Cousins. I think we still got a shot at him during the trade deadline,we'd be able to trade even the new players we acquired. George stays put this year to see what they can do with their new squad.

Luke has his hands full trying to teach a 17 win team how to win. I don't want a knucklehead like Cousins ruining the positives I've seen so far during the preseason. I know beggars can't be choosers, but I believe Boogie is the kind of risk better utilized on a team with an established culture and identity.

I feel where you're coming from. But we don't know where he stands mentally and what he'd think of playing for Walton and our team.

I'd be great to know what Russell and Ingram think about Cousins since they played together as part of team USA. What if you asked boogie how he'd like to play with Russell,Clarkson,Ingram, grow together and try to land one more big fish like George/Westbrook and he cracks a smile on his face. as they start to hit their stride, be laker greats etc.

Ugh... I'm gonna eat my words from earlier, but it doesn't seem like a bad idea to keep Young at this point. He seems to have gotten more serious ever since D'Lo snitched on him. With Deng likely getting rest on random nights, having depth at the wing is not a bad idea. MCW coming here is an interesting thought, if anything a weird one - but if Nick ends up being competent 3 + D guy this year under Luke's guidance, I don't know why we'd rush into trading him for yet another PG.

Another thought - I'm not entirely sure what MCW excells at. Not a fan of him coming off the bench. He appears to be a nice all-around player who is better served when he gets starter's minutes so that he can get in a rhythm. Not an instant offense guy, or dead-eye 3 point shooter. But if the rumors have substance and we end up with MCW, I would think that Luke is gonna commit to Clarkson being a 6th man and D'Lo being more of a shooting guard. With D'Lo at the 2, MCW would have PG duties and would likely focus more on defending on the perimeter.

Nick is winning me back. Past two games he's been playing tough D and taking the right shots and heck, he had a couple nice dishes tonight.

The addition of several solid vets really helped I think. I was all for trading him for a bag of chips but if he can be this effective, give him all of Brown's mins at the two and three.

I rather we trade Lou while he has some trade value and start Nick with jc backing up Nick.

I'll eat my words as well. Nick has been great and I'm surprised how much better he looks. He plays within his role, moves the ball, and defends. Really couldn't ask for more.
