^ part of Lebron's legacy, flopping like a king. I can imagine Lebron getting punched by a heavyweight prize fighter the way he spikes his head back and wobbles like pac man when he has been eaten by a ghost. I know Kobe goes "hey" and glares at the ref, but this is just egregious. I suppose it's just "lucky" the N.B.A has never noticed this flopping. Maybe he is being hit by the same angels that protect Harden.

Lebron, Harden, Blake Griffin are all serious floppers. The fact that the league has not fined any of them is astonishing. I can understand lesser known players because they aren't always on TV but Bron is on TV and in the highlights every day (even when he doesn't play). Yet a guy like Young gets hit with the warning and Bron gets the "he is just being a smart player."

Has he done the walk through the coach with shoulder bump going to bench from time out thing yet. He did that to both Brown in Cleveland and Spoelstra in Miami. Always a class move.

I can't believe some of his quotes with CLE. He seriously thinks that he is the "King" of not only CLE but the "King" of the NBA. You already know my thoughts on him. He is a great player but not clutch and comes up with too many excuses or 'soundbites' to distract from his flaws. And yes, he does have a few (every player does).

What annoys me is when you talk to people who know nothing about basketball (why do I talk to these people again) or hear sports journalists who begrudgingly have to cover basketball and they assume Lebron is the next Jordan but bigger. "You like basketball blah blah are you a fan of the King" And I feel like I don't think Elvis played basketball. He certainly is covered in the hype of the sport. He lives like Jordan for the general public, only in highlights. In higlights he never misses, always makes the right play and the air is dense with chalk dust and applause. My disappointment is that he is not in Jordan's class. He certainly lives in the popular imagination. People should get a team to support. Not follow the King around like farm laborers following false opportunity in the Grapes of Wrath. Rantover.

guys see Lebron checking out the stat sheet given to the coaches during the Cavs-Knicks game tonight. apparantly Marv Albert said that Lebron has been doing it for a while now in between the 3rd and 4th quarters.

This doesn't surprise me after seeing him wear his "Check My stats" shirt but I thought he had grown up from this....

That's kinda lame unless he's checking like how many fouls players have, his own and his defender. If I saw Kobe doing that I'd say the same thing too, kind of lame. Worry about the score, and the outcome, not the stats.

Honestly, it all depends upon what he's doing with it. It's not lame when QBs sit down to look at pictures of plays. Numbers give some of the same data - what's effective, who's effective, etc. I'm fine with bashing LeBron, but I don't think this is one where he is clearly worthy of the bash.

Yeah, I was about to go into a bashing mode, but then I realized that I do that in my profession - rely on gathered data to make a decision on how to solve a problem or how to proceed. I don't see why wouldn't he do it.

That is, of course, if he is not checking his stats to see how much he can "allow" himself.

What bothered me wasn't necessarily the stat checking during the game, it was what the announcers assumed he was doing with that information. If he's checking stats to see "who needs to get more involved" that's dumb. You should know in the flow of the game who needs to get more involved, why so-and-so is shooting a poor percentage, and why the-other-guy has so many turnovers.

The reality is in a close game it's not about the stats, it's about winning. I can see making a concerted effort to get Kyrie 50 points before the game starts. I can see a concerted effort to get Kevin Love a 20/20 game, but when the game is on and it's close you just go try to win it. Don't worry about the numbers and the stats, worry about the win.

All the announcers who were reporting on the story said that he checks for pts assist and rebounds. Not just his but the whole team. They also said that he checks to see whose hot and whose not.

I had the weirdest dream that the Heat traded him and a left sock for Anthony Davis.

If I had Davis, I wouldn't trade him for LeBron.

If I'm the Pelicans, there's no one I'd trade him for in the league.

If there was a draft right now and all the players were at his current age, I think every team in the league would take Anthony Davis.

I agree in that if I were the Pelicans, I wouldn't trade Anthony Davis for absolutely no one.

I disagree, though in that every GM would pick Anthony Davis over everyone.

1st. There's still way too much hype for LeBron James. I'm sure more than one team would still choose him.
2nd. Philly is still part of the NBA, Hinkie would surely choose someone we can't even begin to imagine.
3rd. Because of his injury, people are really forgetting about Kevin Durant.

There's definitely no talent as big as Davis and so young, but Kevin Durant is still pretty young himself, he's proven much more than Davis.. and he's just freaking good. While Davis might be my number 2 option, I'd rather take KD over Anthony Davis.
