if he can hit at 40% on the standstill in real games...there will be blood.

this is gonna sound strange, but the reason why I think Randle will eventually develop a consistent shot is because he has small(er) hands. guys with huge mits typically have trouble shooting it.

    We have Draymond 2.0 :Headbang:

    Perfect.
Hopefully it also translate to the mid range. Thought last year he had better form on the 3 pointers he took than his mid range shots.

He's been working on his right. He is chiseled and and a beast and Luke first day was marveling at how well he ran the floor. If he can shoot this year and has added to the rest of his eye opening game his rookie season ..... look the hell out. Now you're dealing with at least 3 potential stars in the league. Clarkson may be right there if he has learned D, and watch out for Zubac by next year though I think he is going to be impressive this year and play valuable minutes. He's too good and polished already and plays older than 19.

This is better footage for Randle shooting a ton of shots. Randle shooting starts at 4:02

His shot still looks a little flat. He needs a little more lift on his shot and bend his knees. Those are more like big man set shots.

The Lakers and Randle I guess were never really concerned about how flat it was, instead it was how the ball was coming out of his hand:

When he misses, he clanks HARD for long rebounds.

He did have a hitch in his shot when he first entered the league. Definitely a more stable looking shot to start.

I still don't like the trajectory of the shot. Some people can get away with flat shots because they elevate off the ground high enough or like most bigs, don't/can't get off the ground so high.

But since he's not quite a big, and still taking a set shot that's flat, is not going to work for him. Mostly, I want to see him in more of a triple threat stance, one so he can get a little more lift off on shot, but also to take advantage of his elite first step.

    Luckily he's a good rebounder.

from the clip of him shooting, his misses are still pretty bad. this may always be a problem because his delivery is never going to be smooth. mechanical shooters tend to miss badly when they miss.

i don't care too much about this, though, as you don't want randle ever thinking jumper first anyway. he just needs to hit enough to keep defenses honest, then punish them with his already developed skills.

What the H you guys? He's shooting like 80+ % in these clips, many shots now that we've seen...... and people still aren't happy. Ever see Nance shoot?

    Stop picking on Julius!!

He needs to do it in games. He was knocking down corner 3's down last year; then he proceeded to clank shot after shot during the season.

LOL. Well then don't get excited about any other single thing you see happening in these clips. Shirley .... you can't be serious.

I want him to take more 3's instead of midrange shots, though

He starts hitting some at multiple distances and throwing in decent finishes with the right hand occasionally .... and Julius's confidence blows up, he may go into beast mode this year. Footwork improvement and back to the basket too I hope he is working on. He'll get open looks all over the floor .... take what they give him. But yeah if he's shooting decently from 3 point land that really opens the floor up.

eh, i think lots of pro basketball players can hit a lot of shots from the same spot in a row. don't get me wrong--it's better than missing them. but it's a big leap from here to game situations. i'm hopeful, though. won't be for lack of effort.
