USA games have been boring, but other team's games have been pretty good. Good one between Brazil and Spain right now. Huertas and Calderon guarding eachother at the moment, some Lakers in this tournament at least.

Lol, no actually Huertas defense is pretty good in international play, he's not guarding speedy NBA PGs. Calderon looked a little slower, but he was also noticeably bigger, he's gonna be solid for us this season.

    Leave Britney alone!!!

NO you "weirdo"!!! 2 ts as in Griner. Should we all be mocking her or could she fair and square hang as a power forward in the NBA? Am thinking she wants no part really of Cousins one on one.... they both are just having fun with it. Also thinking she could not play the 5 or the 3.

    https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/b...-wants-demarcus-cousins-1-on-1-182501185.html

Edit. Yahoo may be screwing with me (again) like The Vertical with WOJ always seems to now, trying to post that link above. It doesn't open to the article I saw when I test it now after posting the link.

If so, again, eff em. Here it is copied:

Battle of the sexes? Brittney Griner wants to play DeMarcus Cousins 1-on-1

Hoops observers have been wondering for years whether Brittney Griner — the 6-foot-8 center who proved one of the most dominant players in women’s college basketball history en route to becoming the No. 1 pick in the 2013 WNBA draft and a three-time WNBA All-Star — could compete in the NBA.

Well, the U.S. women’s national basketball team shot-swatter has decided she wants to find out how she stacks up against NBA talent … and she knows just who she wants to target.

From Sam Amick of USA TODAY:

The chosen opponent? DeMarcus Cousins, the Sacramento Kings big man and fellow Team USA talent who has been ribbing Griner while on the cruise ship both teams are sharing.

“I would love to just go out there and play against [Cousins],” said Griner, who has never played against NBA talent. “We talk a lot of crap to each other. I love talking to him. He’s really funny. I would love to just go out there and play against him.” […]

“Whenever you’re ready to get it on camera and see her get embarrassed, I’m ready for it,” Cousins said with a smile after practice on Tuesday. […]

“It’s almost like we’re the same person. As soon as I walk in the door, she’s at me. She says I’m a bum. She says she’ll kick my butt. It’s all in fun. She’s an incredible competitor. She’s an incredible player. It’s fun to be around the ladies and get to know them.”

This needs to happen. I mean, neither edition of Team USA has faced much opposition through its first two games of the 2016 Summer Olympics, so why not try to find challenges against one another?

While it’s plenty reasonable to believe that Griner might not be able to hold a candle to the Sacramento Kings’ Cousins, one of the most physically dominating and imposing centers in the NBA and an absolute beast on the interior in international play, anyone who’s watched Griner grow as a person and a competitor over the past few years would know better than to count out the two-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year. And who knows? Maybe this is just the opportunity she’s been waiting for to break out that sky hook that Kareem taught her.

We won’t see the matchup just yet — Griner and company have some business to take care of Wednesday against Serbia, while Boogie and company are prepping to do battle with a tough and talented Australian side. With an off day coming Thursday, though, here’s hoping the two American pivots find the time to settle the score … and here’s hoping many, many photographers and videographers are on hand to share the results.

Edit: Here's a link on Cuban saying in that same story above (that did not copy paste nicely) that he would draft her.

Assuming the link is effed up again ..... (no seems ok on test .... was ESPN, not apparently prissy these days YAHOO)

Mark Cuban may draft Brittney Griner

      Tim MacMahonESPN Staff Writer

LOS ANGELES -- Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban would be willing to give Baylor women's star Brittney Griner the opportunity to prove she could play in the NBA.

Cuban said he would consider selecting Griner, a 6-foot-8 three-time All-American and Big 12 player of the year, in the second round of the NBA draft. If the Mavs don't draft her, Cuban said he would have "no problem whatsoever" inviting Griner to try out for a spot on Dallas' summer league team.

"If she is the best on the board, I will take her," Cuban said before the Mavs' Tuesday night game against the Los Angeles Lakers. "I've thought about it. I've thought about it already. Would I do it? Right now, I'd lean toward yes, just to see if she can do it. You never know unless you give somebody a chance, and it's not like the likelihood of any late-50s draft pick has a good chance of making it."

Griner dominated women's college basketball with her size and athleticism, scoring 3,283 points and blocking 748 shots in her career. She also had 18 dunks, including 11 her senior season.

Griner would love the opportunity. "I would hold my own! Lets do it." she wrote on Twitter on Tuesday night in response to Cuban.

A woman trying out for an NBA team is not unprecedented. Former UCLA star Ann Meyers tried out for the Indiana Pacers in 1979.

Cuban said it's difficult to evaluate whether Griner could play in the NBA because of the caliber of her competition, comparing it to scouting players from small schools. However, Cuban said he was absolutely serious about at least extending an invitation for Griner to try out this summer.

"She'd still have to make the team," Cuban said. "I'm not going to carry her just to carry her. I don't think, anyways. But I certainly wouldn't be opposed to giving her the opportunity."

Cuban acknowledged that Griner playing in the NBA's Las Vegas summer league would have tremendous marketing potential.

"It would, wouldn't it? See how she could do?" Cuban said. "That'd sell out a few games."

Melo is a different player in international play, it's really something. Really struggles shooting in the NBA these days, but in the Olympics, there's almost no one I'd want taking a 3 more.

Also, I really don't like this Australian team. They've got a couple dirty players and some guys I can't stand from the NBA.

Yeah, Melo bailed the US out there in the 4th with his hot shooting. This could have easily been a loss if he didnt catch fire.

Being the elder statesman of the group, not surprised Anthony taking the key shots and leading without 24, James and Wade. Stands to reason that it would be him. TBH, I don't know if he would be able to take that upon himself if Westbrook was on the squad.

    1) Coach K shouldn't keep playing the same starting 5 which sucks defensively
    2) Too many minutes with a traditional center
