It will be interesting to see what Luke cooks up. He definitely has several options that Byron wouldn't have known what to do with.

There are some Cs Randle can play against and there are some he can't. I think we'll see lineup versatility - that actually has a thought behind it - this season.

randle can switch to 5 against second units for most opponents. nance could probably do it against a select few teams (though his potential as a shotblocker is interesting there). but given the dearth of pfs on the team, i expect randle and nance to play most of their minutes at the 4.

and i'll still be really surprised if ingram plays much at the 2. i just can't see him chasing guys around screens. if the opposing sg is a ballhandler/penetrator, then maybe. but if it's a jj redick type, i'm not sure ingram will be up to the task.

The beauty of the team we're building is their versatility, but I think our best lineup by the end of next year would be:
    Russell/Clarkson/Ingram/Deng/Randle or Nance Jr.

I think it'll be Randle because he's more talented, but Nance Jr. had a terrific showing in the Summer League. If Randle doesn't put in the kind of work he needs to, Larry will pass him by, but the lineup ^ there is what we're going to aim for. Yes the defense will be shaky at first, but if we're going to be competitive and we're going to build around the kids, they HAVE to improve defensively and Clarkson, Russell, and Randle will need to take that next step in their game. I think the focus there will be on the shoulders of Walton. If Walton can't figure it out and make it work, then we're going to have to look in another direction probably for our young kids.

For what it's worth Ingram's shooting splits:

    First three games-
    8/26 from the field (31%)
    0-6 from three

    Last two games-
    13/25 from the field (52%)
    4/10 from three

He's in our division, everything happens for a reason.. He'll work that much harder now to try to be better than KD. Plus now that we got baby Durant, Westbrook will come here next year &probably wouldn't do so even if KD signed with us.

i like what he had to say about being skinny. i think there's too much focus on trying to add weight. his frame might not support it. just learn how to play within the limits of your physical abilities. he'll obviously get stronger, but he's never going to be big. doesn't mean you can't play, as durant said.

The amount of players who, despite various percieved limitations, went on to have HOF careers must be some sort of deterrent for the pundits to keep saying this stuff: "too skinny", "too slow"...

Every time I hear that, these guys come to mind:

Nice pic... Lemme see, the perceived weaknesses of both? Can't jump out of the gym, not very fast, not very strong, terrible individual defenders [ok dat true]. What both have is competitive will, the heart of a lion and genius basketball IQs... All I's got.

I think Michael Cooper might be a more apt comparison

I don't think Ingram will get 30min a game, but I agree that with the stats projections.

High praise from multiple time league scoring leader and former MVP.

I sorta forgive you Byron, but I still don't want you anywhere near a clipboard even if you visit the Lakers.

Durant in college averaged 26/11 along with 2 blocks and 2 steals.
Ingram in college averaged 17/7/2 along with 1.1 steals and 1.4 blocks.

Similar minutes played, similar shooting percentages.

I don't think I can say Ingram is farther along than Durant after their college season. The gap in stats is just too big to ignore. Averaging almost 10 more points is no small feat. Thats like saying Steph Curry and Brook Lopez are the same caliber scorers.
