I thought Zubac was little chubbier than he appears.

Not skinny, but definitely has the composition to development into a vey strong player.

No wonder he's able to move around so fluidly.

I love this. I don't see Zubac getting 3 happy. He's not afraid to bang down low and this will just help spread the floor even more. His 15-18 footer has been money and it just looks so nonchalant. The kid has touch.

Oh hell yeah!! WTF not at this point? Kid has good form and has been knocking down mid range Js and free throws well. Kid says he has 3 point range. We have actual supportive coaches now. Go for it Zu ... show us everything you got at age 19 already.

...likely a "look see" experiment. If it is at the top of the arc, also gives Zu a head start to backpedal in case of a miss. He does have a low post game...short face up Js and a jump hook. I'd like to see him wheel into the paint and try a traditional "sky" hook. Now THAT will surprise the crap out of everyone...

Zu quite doesn't have it to muscle in dunks but that will eventually come. Against Philly, he had one stuffed by Simmons ending up with a jump ball.

Bigger steal even than Nance considering our need for a good..... and...... BIG center going forward for the next decade at least. Some good to very good young big men on other teams in the league now. F*** over emphasis on small ball. We'll have that covered too.

Moz, Randle and on specific occasions, Zu... Walton's modus operandi could be mixing an inside game with the perimeter game so as not to rely too much on aspect over the other. Russell, Deng, Clarkson, Williams are our best outside shooters. Nance on clean-ups. Strive for balance.

Luke's favorite thing ever out of the Triangle were the always cool sounding  "pinch post" options. I admit I do not know much about Xs and Os. So who are our best "pinch post" potential players? Do we have any?

I don't know about Deng, but Russell actually might be our best. He has a move that he does - I'm not sure if there's a name for it, but I'll explain it - that I think could be very successful. On one hand, he's looking great on post ups right now. He'll have lots of post up opportunities against smaller Gs this year. On the other hand, he has this thing that he does where he dribbles inside the key, hunches a bit, and sort of creates a pocket between the ball and his defender, but he's facing the basket. With his post skills that he's developing and this face up move, he could develop into a pretty deadly pinch post player.

Typically a good pinch post player is a strong dude with a good midrange J. That's exactly what MJ and Kobe were.

I see Randle and Nance there... Randle would be great because he can handle the rock, take his defender off the dribble. Russell on those match-ups when he has a mouse on him.

Randle can drive like a boss, but until he develops a face up jumper, he'll be limited in the pinch post. Nance is best off the ball, in my view.

Good points as I was leaning towards saying Nance but his shaky ball handling skills made me hedge. Agree that if Randle's mid-range J becomes effective he'd be a terror there. One of the staff should address that depending on who is the shooting coach. Russell has both qualities which leaves as to ask who initiates the offense from the top. Clarkson perhaps? All in all, Walton has many variables he has to figure out.

Moz and Zu's abilities to hit the short shot makes the defense honor them which could free up the driving lanes.

Soon enough, Zu will have visions of himself being the new Nowitzki. Wouldn't put it past him either...

EXACTLY. He was doing this last year, where he gets his man on his hip and just shields them from getting in front and takes his shot when he's ready.

Oh I like that statement put out there by one of the new guys, not even the higher and highest level Shaw and Walton. Their 3rd coach this year is 20 times better with the team in his first 3 games than Byron was at the end of his season long befuddlement.... no better than when he started the season after all his thinking and best planning, allegedly, excusing his failures and blaming the young guys all year long. Byron sucked that bad the entire season and Jesse #3 on the coaching depth chart had these guys pumped and winning in his 1st 3 games.

That was without question an intentional, brutal punt to Byron's scrotum. Might as well have said, "We don't want to discourage our players from playing the game the right way like the previous coach."
