Off topic, but I think Russell is both cocky and humble.

That's Shaq logic. Which doesn't make a lick of sense. Like when Lebron talks about being humble and he as Chosen One tattooed across his back.

It makes perfect sense to me. Russell, like Kobe, is as arrogant and cocky as anyone on the court, yet remains humble enough to work harder than anyone and never be satisfied. He knows what he wants to achieve and realizes that he needs to stay humble and coachable. Arrogance without substance will not get you far.

One thing is for sure I'm noticing a lot of, when he elevates, NOBODY at small forward is going to block his shot one on one. He gets fouled almost every time and gets hit on the wrists because defenders can't reach as high as he shoots.

The drives will come. He just needs to continue knocking down shots and make defenders respect it. Then the lane will open right up.

saw someone say this predraft, but his offense is kawhi leonard-ish (more range, less ability to get separation around the basket). i see some tayshaun there, too, but he already has a better handle and vision than prince, imo. defensively, he reminds me a lot of prince, obviously.

much like last summer and early season with russell, i'm not worried about ingram. he's going to be good, early results be damned. not all of us can be tj mcconnell, just coming out of the gates raining fire on the weak.

No one who gets compared to TJ McConnell will look good. Complete package.

I wish the Sixers would just accept our offer of Ingram/Russell for McConnell.

When I did stat projections on Ingram, I did two parts KD, one part Prince. If he could end up being that kind of player, we'd be insanely lucky.

Lakers still haven't sign him. Weird.

I wonder if Mitch is still playing around with the cash on one more addition?

He wouldn't be playing in SL if he hadn't signed his contract, would he?

    Possibly.

From Omar Little (Moderator on LG)

'Ingram and Black are the two guys whose cap holds are significantly lower than their salaries once signed, so LA is keeping some cap space open for some reason. Roughly 6 million of it by not signing them.'

    Bard207 on LG

'Once all the contracts are signed they will be roughly at the salary floor and will still have the ability to add to the team salary via a minimum contract or signing a player through the room Exception.'

No reason to remove options if you don't have to.

I'm thinking they plan on adding 1 more player or just standing pat to see if something changes or someone becomes available.

You can play without being signed.

Bard is wrong though I think. If we're at the salary floor then we still have about 10 million or something before we're at the salary cap.

Windhorst was on Mason and Ireland a week or so ago when speaking about possible trades, and noted that by not signing Ingram immediately, he is eligible to be traded at any moment until he signs. The moment he signs, we're locked into him for 60 days or so I believe. An example of this scenario was the Wiggins for Love deal two summers back, when the 2 teams had to wait until late August for the deal to be consummated (the Cavs had signed Wiggins shortly after drafting him).

This makes me wonder if Mitch and Co. are just leaving their options open for a bit in case a blockbuster trade presents itself in the upcoming weeks, perhaps for someone such as TJ McConnell.

The fouls on Ingram happened at least three times I believe against Philly...one was a three point shot attempt too.
