Was he responsible for turning Ariza and Shannon Brown into great shooters for us, or was that another assistant?
All in the past doesn't matter, onward and forward. Luke brings in his positive attitude and connection with the guys further glued in by the vets and the chemistry alone is going to make a big difference. At the same time, Luke will deal with more s*** than he has ever done in the past. If he can keep this "impenetrable" facade up it will help all the more with LA media and the grueling times sure to come.
I like how look understands that were are going to be times when we aren't happy with what is going on. But if we're all patient enough the culture and results will begin to change in due time. I thought this part of the article with Steve Kerr weighing in was spot on:
I didn't know if this should go in this thread or the optimism thread, but it's definitely related to both. http://www.silverscreenandroll.com/...-new-head-trainer-fun-byron-scott-luke-walton
KA POW!! I think the moratorium on taking rightly deserved shots at Boron and political correctness from the players is ending soon. Shot across the bow here. Love it.
http://podcastone.com/the-big-podcast-with-shaq Luke goes on Shaq's podcast. Solid interview. He goes over how GS prepared him, what the expectations are for them, setting a foundation, etc. Check it out. Luke starts around the 17-18 minute mark or so.
Walton is positive but also realistic... He was also O'Neal's favorite passer when they played together in 2004.
Scott was our Jackson(once again, we didn't have even a sniff,of GSW's talent), now Walton is gonna be our Kerr&more as far as going to a huge asset to be able to relate, bond with his players due to his up bringing/age.
Thanks for sharing this. Didn't know he did this interview and would have missed it. Will listen tonight
