forgone conclusion, D'Antonio was the nail in the coffin

Wonder where he ends up and what kind of paper will get thrown at him. Despite his failing play, there is a lot of paper to be thrown around this summer and we've already seen people getting ridiculous contracts before this cap increase so he will get his payday from some fool organization. Still can produce with a bunch of shooters around him.

Rim protection and boarding yes but I don't think they want a black hole on the other end.

And is GSW even capable of doing a deal like that without S&T? Even the S&T rules have got rough on teams ove the cap.

If Dwight realizes that if he's used to his strength (boards, blocks, roll man) he can be a big part of a team. But his constant need to prove himself as a post player is a huge negative. C Bags is a place in need of a big man, but there are rumors there about an Okafor for the #3 pick rumors.

boston is a very sensible landing spot for howard. as is dallas, though i've read they're not that interested.

...I reckon Howard's whiny, self ingratiating persona has really played a large part in his fall from grace? Throwing a coach under the bus, trying to amnesty a franchise icon...

i agree, but i think he was really on his best behavior in houston. i mean, if you're going to wave a stat sheet around and complain about touches...i think that's the place to do it. but he may have gotten it just a bit too late. had he had a better attitude in la, i think things would have worked out well for him. oh well, his problem now.

    lol

In general, team executives said his starting salary should be no higher than $15 million‚—or $2 million less than Enes Kanter, the backup center for Oklahoma City, will earn next season.

And those projections come amid an unprecedented salary-cap spike that is certain to inspire wild overspending by teams this summer.

"Would I take a chance at $12-13 million? Yeah, if I already have a franchise guy," one executive said. "Would I rather pay Dwight Howard $14 million than Bismack Biyombo? You're darn right I would."

if i'm any team but the lakers, i'd pay 20 per for dwight before i'd pay 15 for biyombo. even now, that talent gap is wide. i wish howard would have learned and accepted his limitations, but he didn't. that doesn't mean he brings nothing, though. this 12 per crap should be considered an insult given the numbers being thrown around for others.

Burning bridges like he has may cost him dearly, but I'll believe that when I see it. Only takes two teams to create a bidding war.

apparently dallas told his people they want him...at that 12 per figure. that might be where this is emanating from. that's not happening. also silly of dallas, as he's probably the best player they could nab in FA.
