Agree but Golden State does not have a player of Randle's ability. Sure he can be a bull in a china shop at times but he can initiate contact and score. Green, Iguadala and Barnes just aren't those types of players that create havoc in the paint. Walton remembered the great showing that Randle had and I bet the wheels spun in his head how he can incorporate that into his offensive schemes. Heck even Green noticed it. In a way, it will free up the perimeter players for open looks.

I can also envision the taller Russell posting up smaller defenders too. Asking for the rock and barking mouse in the house...

Yep. That side post action is going to be brilliant for Julius and D'Angelo. You have Jordan Clarkson and Ingram cutting around with that and a Center setting a screen weakside. Oh I'm salivating.

Agreed. No doubt. The only point I was make is Luke will take the most advantageous opportunities with Randle and that's when he has mismatches. If/when Randle develops an ability where we can throw it into him and say go get us a basket on the block despite who's guarding him because we are that confident in his ability on the block, that would be great. I just don't think he's quite there yet, IMO.

There were some plays I noticed where either Curry or Thompson inside passing were awry...either off target or easily read. Russell should not have that much trouble seeing over smaller defenders or around taller ones. Another player that will benefit from all this is Nance. Active and constantly on the move, he'd be an easy target.

Oh my gosh I can't believe how happy I am about this stuff. This is going to be amazing.

By the way that post action is actually borrowed from the Triangle. Just sayin'!

Yes Randle isn't but he has to start somewhere and this offense will help him achieve that growth. I see your point in not isolating him one on one and just give him the rock but get him on the move to create mismatches. That alone itself presents opportunities for him to destroy defenders on the low block.

Well the thing with Julius on the block is he's a very good passer. We've seen that. We don't need him to score as much as you use that possession to set cross screens and back cuts and let him read the defense. A lot of times GS would dump the ball into the post to Bogut and then make their cuts which would result in either a layup or an open three.

I think Randle had some very bad habits last season; in addition, he was very poorly coached. Luke, by all accounts, worked with Green to really develop his game, and I think he'll do the same with Julius. Julius working off the ball, setting those screens, diving to the rim, finding open seams within the offense to attack, is where he will flourish, IMO.

I agree, though. He's a very good passer. His reads have to be more decisive and on point; I'd imagine a couple of months into the season Julius will be dissecting defenses with his passing ability because he's familiar with all the read & react principals within the offense; plus, with a more uptempo system, he'll be able to catch and lead a lot of those fast breaks. In short, the game will be much easier for him.

Not surprising as Kupchak likes to re-assure people like he did with Scott when Thibodeau rumors were floating around as bad as the former has been. It is really silly how the media love to speculate stories without ground sometimes.

Was really cool to see him talk with Brian Shaw and taking in the Luke Press Conference along with Nance.

...nothing like getting an early head-start with the new regime which Russell will be an integral part of.

Even though Mitch didn't have to do this I really do appreciate him putting out that spark quickly. Nothing worse than having one of our young franchise players questioning the team's motives or second guessing himself when there really isn't anything to worry about.

Props to you Mitch for recognizing an opportunity to give Russell more confidence (which is huge at his age) and nip that ridiculousness rumor in the butt.

Ford is not close to being worse than Broussard but there are times when it is a toss-up between the two.

If you're a player or coach with the Laker sand Mitch ISN'T calling and saying "don't worry about the rumors" something is probably up.

    Talking to you Nick Young.
