Last year looked worse to me, but I guess we'll see when it's all said and done. The combo of Booz and Wes really leaves a lot to be desired. Then Kobe and Lin aren't the greatest either at this stage. That leaves Hill to cover a lot of ground. When Ed Davis is in with him we look a lot better just having some extra D at the rim. Price also helps the PG position, but I don't want him starting.
Through 9 games: PG (C-) Lin 71 Price 66 Clarkson 50 WING (D) Kobe 81 Clarkson 54 Price 53 Kelly 52 Ellington 52 Johnson 38 Henry 24 BIG (A-) Hill 94 Davis 86 Boozer 73 Sacre 65 Kelly 55 Randle 21 Johnson 44 I want to see Clarkson get more burn. I want to see: Lin/Ellington/Kobe/Kelly/Hill a bit and see what that looks like. A bench of Price/Clarkson/Wes/Boozer/Davis could be interesting to watch, and it would feature a few vets. When Swaggy comes back, I'd like to see Wes used only situationally.
Through 10 Games PG (D) Lin 68 Price 64 Clarkson 53 WING (C) Kobe 84 Kelly 59+ Clarkson 57 Price 51 Ellington 52 Henry 39+++ Johnson 38 BIG (A-) Hill 95 Davis 88 Boozer 70 Sacre 70+ Kelly 68+++ Johnson 44 Randle 21 We need a guard. We need another wing player. We need those things desperately.
Young coming back does help in the Wing department; also, with the addition of Miller, maybe he could be more useful than Wesley resulting in a decrease in Johnson's minutes. That would help. As far as the guard situation, I did like what Doc suggested in the GD thread; starting Clarkson. Lin could be moved to the bench. IDK. Just throwing stuff out there...
Guess the two players with the worst team defensive ratings on our team. ... ... ... Carlos Boozer at 121.2. Wesley Johnson at 120.7. Not shocking at all. The two best are Sacre and Ellington.
PG (C-) Lin 72 Price 63 Clarkson 53 WING (C) Kobe 84 Young 61 Kelly 59 Clarkson 57 Price 50 Ellington 52 Henry 39 Johnson 37 BIG (A-) Hill 95 Davis 85 Boozer 73 Kelly 68 Sacre 67 Johnson 44 Randle 21 Young didn't hand out an assist; the way the numbers work, his passing should jump. He would've been at a 70 with just one assist last night. That'll come. Scoring Leaders: Kobe 6.8, Young 6.7, Kelly 5.9 Passing Leaders: Price 4.0, Lin 3.6, Kobe 3.0 Hustle Leaders: Hill 3.9, Davis 3.8, Boozer 2.8
Lin had a very good game; he needs consistency. I don't like Price. I'd much rather develop Clarkson at this stage. Price can't shoot, gambles too much on defense, can't run an offense, etc...Clarkson shoots better, can develop the skill set to be better defensively, has a better in-between game, and so on. We probably won't see the benefit right away but could pay dividends moving forward with a much more groomed Clarkson resulting in a better 2nd unit. I do think the time in the D-league will help, though.
Nope, not definite. Thanks for the correction. Although, my gut feeling is X is cut and probably goes to the D-league, IMO.
I like Price as a cheap backup, but I do think Clarkson has a solid future ahead of him. Pleasant surprise.

Kobe's assists are up a bit, and his shooting's trending up. He should be able to work into the low 90s, I'd say. Young hasn't handed out an assist, but I expect him to be in the low 70s. Hill and Davis around 90 is great. We just need one more solid contributor and we're a respectable team.
