I like Nate a lot. I thought he could've been a nice assistant for us to consider, as well. Not sure he solves anything in Indy. Maybe he's better liked by all the players, not that Vogel was dislike but the Olympic guys all loved Nate on the coaching staff.

Absolutely. There's nothing against Nate, but if Bird fired a better version of Nate in Vogel. I'd love Nate as an assistant here, but I don't understand him as a head coach over there. I think it's a mistake by Bird.

Meanwhile Vogel had a secret meeting with Phil and the NY GM over here in LA. Phil is still adamantly campaigning for Rambis, but just about everyone else in the world wants either Blatt or Vogel.

Phil is getting senile with his Triangle memories if he thinks Rambis is a better choice than Vogel or Blatt.

Bird laid an egg to throw at his face later on

Nate said he got out of his interview with Sacramento and Bird called him afterwards and offered him the job.

    What the hell?

Is Larry losing it in his old age?

Well duh... He's the least qualified candidate out there. It was weird they even interviewed him.

I thought it was odd either side would consider it.

Courtesy interview? Like how we always have to interview Dunleavy?

Probably, but Smith isn't even a coach so it's weird that there was an interview at all.

Just got the B/R update that MDA is getting a second interview with Houston. Oh please let Dwight stay. I desperately want to see this again

If they hire 'Antoni, Dwight bolts. He can't shoot threes, and he has no post up game for 'Antoni to even mention as "inefficient".

As for the Nate McMillan hire, I don't really get it. Seems like a lateral move at best to me, Vogel did a great job with the players he had to work with.
