Beautiful. As opposed to the stupid, simple, having to call a guy to come out and pick for you on the perimeter. And all of the ugly isolation ball with guys standing around watching. Brilliant s*** you had going there Byron. (replying to the clips previous page from therealdeal that are copied in next post below)
Most definitely. But I also think it has something to do with team unity as well. These guys have played with each other for 3-4 years now so they know they can trust each other to be where they need to be. You combine that unity with a great motion offense, with shooters in Klay and Curry, and you have something this dynamic. We'll get there but definitely will take time. And when I say we'll get there we might never be as explosive as this warriors team because they have Curry and Klay but BOY will we be fun to watch!
Yeah I'm not saying we'll do that on day one. I don't think anyone should expect that. But those sets will be in place and that is what we should be seeing instead of Byron's playbook which consisted of more isolations than an infectious disease ward.
Right?!? So excited! Being from...not LA, I'm in no rush for fall/winter, but at least this will keep me all warm and fuzzy when the snow comes down.
Guys, I just had the craziest nightmare where a former beloved Laker player became our coach and eschewed pesky annoyances like "X's & O's" and "developing key youngsters" for repeating tired old man curmudgeon-y phrases about "manning up" and standing there like a stiff with his arms folded rather than coaching. The mind is a wonderful tapestry of randomness. So glad we have an actual coach in Mr. Walton. What a relief our reality is.
That's a great job for him. I know he'll get consideration as a head coach, but got to be worth a call. All this means is there's a bunch of head coaches and only so many jobs. We SHOULD be able to snatch up someone as an assistant.
I thought Vogel would get consideration in Sacramento. He may be interested in Memphis. The only jobs left are Memphis, Indy, and Houston right?
And here we are...sitting pretty with our coaching search over...signed, sealed and delivered. :Mitchthumbs:
How great is that move looking, right? There was a small, quick media attempt to make the rushed decision look bad but there's no way around how great a move that was. Locking down the guy we want before jobs like Sacramento, Houston, Indiana, or New York could even get an interview. Let alone new spots like Memphis and Orlando.
Scott Skiles reminds me too much of Byron in that he's an old school kind of coach who doesn't know how to relate to his players.
