...one of the most bizarre exchanges I have ever witnessed. Funny stuff. On topic: the Spurs don't have any wings that can consistently beat defenders off the dribble and create for themselves or for open teammates. Yes, Leonard has been a stud but Ginobili is as old as Metuselah while Parker has been spotty. Adams and Kanter have been holding their own and not being overwhelmed by their more celebrated counterparts. So much so that Ibaka hasn't had much impact. It is still anybody's series...
You are not alone. I was sure that the Spurs would win Game 5 last night. It seems like every pivotal game they need to win their are able to pull through. I still think this goes 7 games. But OKC surprisely has been pretty good in the 4th quarter. Granted Spurs got the short end of the calls last night by the officials I thought
It was really sad to see Duncan and Giniboli struggle out there. Just as it was for us and Kobe, might be time to hang it up after the series.
Yep. Leonard isn't really the creator type offensively. He can do it a bit, but it's not his strength. He thrives off of other people creating where he can find gaps and lanes. Duncan and Ginobili are simply cooked. They each might have one more good game left in those bodies, but that's it. In the biggest game, Aldridge came up short as well so... The Spurs are in a heap of trouble. After this season with Duncan and Ginobili gone they'll be pretty good, but I wonder if they'll remain contenders built around Aldridge/Lenoard. Another talent infusion probably needs to take place to boost them back to the top.
Warriors matchup better with OKC than they do with the Spurs so there is that. Not to say Warriors can't beat the Spurs but just noting matchups. Plus the way Lillard and CJ play can be sort of a positive to prepare for how OKC plays.
i'll be curious to see if pop's able to maintain the spurs' culture once duncan and ginobili retire. if he can, they won't go anywhere, but i do think it helps to have the same principal players for over a decade. maybe he's already been able to establish that kind of trust and leadership in leonard and aldridge, but i don't know...it's tough to do.
In their down year, as they transition from the OLD GUARD to the NEW GUARD and get a bunch of cap room to work with, they struggle and only win 67 games. Damn, I wish I could hate them, but I have too much respect for them.
Wouldn't it be insane, if the Blazers came back to win the series? The Warriors are an amazing team, and Stephen Curry is a treat to watch but it would shake up the playoffs if that would happen.
NBA is full of BS. There is a simple solution that wouldn't require them to post out a useless after-the-fact, helping-no-one, hurting-refs report. Each team gets 2 challenges, but 1 less 20s TO, to discourage using challenge as a TO.
What an entertaining series, kind of sad to see it end. Too bad Portland couldn't extend it but it wasn't for lack of trying. No doubt GS has the very best backcourt in the league and one of the best we've ever seen in Steph and Klay, but man, the Blazers have got number two IMO with Lillard and McCollum. That tandem is unreal. Great stuff in the Western conference.
For them to advance to this stage with who they lost on the roster last year......they are doing great things up there.
Gotta give them props for playing hard. Lillard and CJ really carried this team farther than it should have gone.
San Antonio down by 24 at the half? Yikes OKC reminds me of the Iverson Sixers, but with 2 stars. Not sure they can win the next round if they don't have a consistent 3rd threat. No one is filling that role right now.
Looks like warriors thunder match up. Can't complain. That should be fun to watch. But I was definitely expecting a spurs warriors match up. Earlier this series
This just feels like it's OKC's time. They're clicking on all cylinders right now. They're suffocating one of the most efficient offenses in the league. It just feels like Westbrook and Durant are too good to never win a championship together. It's now or never for them. There is no tomorrow and their supporting cast is stepping up now. Kanter and Adams argurably changed this series with their size and rebounding. Waiters has finally starting playing consistent ball. Their bench has outplayed one of the league's best. Golden State and OKC w
I think OKC is a nightmare matchup for the Warriors. OKC can possibly win the series against the Spurs. They seem to have found their mojo.
