I don't understand why you want Barnes. Where is he going to play with Durant at the 3 and Jimmy Butler at the 2?

Maybe i'm goinging overhead with Randle's potential, but with the expereience he had from this season, the highs and mostly the lows, i'm expecting from him to be a contender for MIP award next season. Expecting him to work really hard this summer and see an improved version of him after the first month of the season.

I really think he can do it. Be in those 3-4 players around the league that made the big jump.
Rebounding he's starting to master, now it's about finding his scoring strenghts, getting better at defence and mentally understanding the game.

Julius can be MIP, All Star, maybe even an MVP one day. I don't see why not. The kid has the athleticism, he has the love and passion for the game, he has the physical gifts, it's all about putting the work in for him. He missed his rookie season and then came back and had a really good one. It was very impressive. We saw him take and make big shots. That's big. That's what a franchise level superstar has to do. He has that kind of potential.

I love Julius, but I'm not sure I see anything like MVP candidate in his future.

    I think he can be an All-Star though. A multi-time All-Star even.

MVP is subjective. He may not be one of those guys that are MVP candidates year in year out, but if he improves enough he absolutely can be in that conversation one day at least one season. Joakim Noah was in that talk a couple of years ago.

I just haven't seen anything like that kind of potential. Could it happen? Sure. I mean he's trying to emulate parts of Draymond's game and there's fans (both from GS and not) that argue he's the MVP of that team. Draymond got 50 points in the MVP vote.

It's technically possible, but he's got such a long way to travel that it's almost impossible to make that leap right now. Let's focus on the MIP first and see if he can get that because he's got a TON of issues to deal with... Right hand, defense, jump shot... I'm maybe his biggest fan on this board, but I want to see those three things happen first.

Well, lakers2015 is talking mvp. I think he's got you beat.:D

I see a good player, maybe even an all star. But if I were betting, I'd put the over/under on his all star appearances at 1. He has so many holes. Not saying it's impossible, but I see him as a good player having Lamar Odom level impact.

Odom was a hell of a player. Didn't get a single all star appearance, likely due to being on a team with much bigger names.

I miss those teams, where Lamar Odom was the fourth best player T_T.

If he ends up having somewhere between a Lamar Odom and a Draymond Green impact, he'll have a hell of a career and would likely help us win a ring.

    I'm cool with that.

This is awesome news! I'm not sure why people aren't making a bigger deal out of this. I hope we get updates constantly. This type of thing has been beneficial for high character players all over the league. I think this is a chance for Julius to grow as a player by training with some of the greats around the NBA.

That's awesome news. They'll get to be around, practice with, play against some of the best in the league. It's like an all-star game setting, except the players will actually be trying, very valuable experience for the kids.

big for several reasons. obviously the development, but the relationships will help the lakers attract FAs later, too. it's a pretty exclusive club.

    Very good point.

I think that this goes unnoticed a lot of the time.

Really good news indeed. Randle will get to measure himself against the established stars of The League. I have always liked how the young man is composed and mature. Never hear anything issues on and off the floor with him.
