    Morey is overrated IMO.

Under his regime, Houston has always had ok talent but was ultimately never a contender. I'm also sure...they are fine with making the playoffs in Houston. But to me, its championship or bust. If you don't win, it really means nothing. I don't even see progress in Houston....

I feel that is where Boston is headed if they don't cash in on these "multiple" draft picks....in the end, if you dont' draft well, your picks won't mean anything. All of our draft picks right now are better than any of Boston's recent draft picks....(Sullinger, Smart, Rozier, Olynyk, and a few others that don't even really play). Their free agent/trades have been better than ours, not to mention the coach they picked up to bring the best out of their players. That's where we need to get better, and with Luke coming in, we already answered one of those questions.

He probably thought Boogie was on the move. When Vlade told him Boogie was staying, McHale ran for the hills.

Also, stay classy Bird. Damn, that was flat out ugly and unwarranted to talk about Vogel like that. Not exactly a good look for whoever is replacing him. There was no need to air the details of what went on between the two behind closed doors.

    WOW.

I'd say he's a great bet for Sacramento while on the other hand I think Vogel could make a bee-line for Memphis. Crazy...

I don't think he's a bad coach. That Memphis team had no business being in the playoffs.

Hmmm Vogel in Memphis would be very interesting. But Memphis does need a new look, or new life in them. We know they can be punishing defensively but always did struggle offensively.

    - Vogel is elite at D

    - Bird wanted Vogel to play small , Vogel tried , it didn't work then he got back to play a traditional lineup , Pacers were better .

    - Hibbert ( !) and Stephenson ( !) played their best ball under him

    - There isn't a better coach on the market .

    Good job Indiana !

Joerger to Sac seems like all but a done deal at this point. I'm not sure what more the Grizzlies FO is expecting. Both Hollins and Joerger have done all you can possibly do with that team. They have lousy 3 point shooters and have needed a legit wing threat ever since they've been a steady playoff presence. You can swap out coaches as much as you want, it won't magically fix your glaring roster issues.

well, they almost fell out. I just remember them dumping hollins after a few successful years, hiring joerger to much fanfare...and then having him basically do the same thing or worse.

we'll see, I guess. if he can make sac respectable, he'll get my respect. it's a mess over there.

It's like JSM said: that roster has a ton of holes and problems and they've got few ways to fix it. It's not a FA destination team and they've got somewhat limited assets to trade. Joerger did fine. I don't know if he's great, but Memphis' problem is not their coach.

If Joerger takes Sacramento then that leaves NY, Houston, and Memphis right? I think Blatt or Vogel makes sense for New York. Whichever coach is left after that, I don't know if I value the Houston or Memphis crap show over the Lakers' assistant job. Obviously I'm very biased, but those jobs (and Sacramento) seem like real poofests.

vogel's the best guy on the market, imo. ny should open the vault and hire him, but I totally see them going blatt (not a bad choice). who takes Houston is the question? I'm betting they're gunning for vogel, and jvg has been their cheerleader in the press ever since he left there.

Memphis isn't that bad a gig. Despite their roster issues and dumb FO, they are still a playoff team. They don't have any ego or coach killers. Houston on the other hand...
