i get that clarkson has his weaknesses, but he also has some strengths that this team is sorely going to need all the more with russell gone. brook lopez can definitely pick up some slack scoring, but what guards do we have that can create their own shot or at least are willing to?

lonzo is going to need a guy to pass the rock to and his addition can only benefit clarkson.

im not blind to his faults by any means either. yes he over dribbles and can be a ball stopper, but he can also score 1 on 1 in an iso situation and shows and eagerness to be aggressive. some may say hes had his chance, but im willing to see how this season plays out before i consider his growth done and his benefit to the team null. i know this isnt the optimish thread, but i think we will be pleasantly surprised with jordan this year, with some definite credit going to lonzo as well

Will off court distractions (i.e. social butterfly) lead to inconsistent on court play?

Just checked for closest Chick-Fil-A and am looking at 10 miles. Over the hill into Hollywood, surface streets out to the oven that is Northridge or the typically jammed 134 into Pasadena. Oh well. Just happy Tommy's and In-N-Out are close along with El Pollo Loco.

You mean it's not the healthiest, purest, most natural chicken fast food ever? Popeye's tastes better.

    Anyway, welcome Lonzo!

Who knew it was going to be Lonzo Ball that got LD2K out of retirement (Yes I know he's busy as heck now working at 2K).

    He did it again!

I watched the both UCLA vs. Oregon games last night in their entirety and just finished watching the full game of UCLA vs. Utah and if there is one thing that just out at him as to whether or not Lonzo can really explode this year in turns of impact its that we need to give him shooters.

We already know this and which is why Rob has said they are putting a premium on trying to find shooters during FA while preserving CAP space for Summer '18, but its so clear to be what helps make Ball effective. He is brilliant at collapsing the defense and kicking it back out to find them. The shooters he had at UCLA also helped him get to the basket as well.

Very fun those 3 games were to watch. Lonzo is certainly the real deal.

I think Lopez is going to have a phenomenal season easily eclipsing his 3 pt total from last season (thinking 150+)

I think the other big beneficiary is Ingram and Randle. So much more space to attack the lane. I think many defenses will be caught off balance.

I had to watch him for five minutes to know all those things.. Magic knows what we got. Soon so will everyone else. Lovin Magic again. Great time to be a Laker fan.

Looks like the rest of the team has been given the message right up front .... Lonzo's going to be leading the show. Don't make waves. Magic can make players disappear .... just like DAR and Moz disappeared. Wyatt Earp is the new Sheriff.

Lonzo has a really long face. Random observation. :p

If Lopez can give the Lakers 60 games and steady play, Zubac will improve, Lakers in the front court will be excellent.

Boy he needs some real weight training. He is a skinny kid. I don't need him to be a big dude, but he doesn't even have rudimentary form on some of that stuff. Gunner is going to be very disappointed in Lavar's training.
