Not much to be pumped about, but I figured I'd be totally premature and post about this:

Since Larry Bowa and Denny Doyle (1970), only two Phillies rookies have started on opening day: Freddy Galvis (2012) and Odubel Herrera (2015).

Herrera is off to a hot start: .308/.372/.885. He has 4 doubles, 2 triples, and 3 steals.

For what it's worth, I projected his season stats at 16 doubles, 5 triples, 3 HR, 16 steals, and a .292 average.

He'll at least be in the conversation for ROY. That should be some excitement in what promises to be a miserable season.

Hamels tosses his first no hitter - on my wedding anniversary. Thanks, Cole!

12 Ks and 2 walks. Pretty dominant stuff. Phillies must be thrilled if the rumors of trading him are true. Just upped his value A LOT

The thing is that he's my favorite Phil - and we need him if we're going to compete in the next few years. So I really want him to stick around.

He had an ankle injury he played on for the first half, basically. Hit like garbage. Went on the DL. Ankle's good now, it seems. Since he returned, he's like 15-31 with power and speed back. He could probably play 3/4 of the remaining games, needs some time off occasionally, can still hit well, good power for a second baseman. And he's still a decent fielder when his ankle cooperates.

I flat out love Chase Utley, and I don't think you'll find any Philly fan who would talk trash about him, about his approach to the game, and about what he's done for the organization. I think more highly of him than I do of probably any Philly in my life time, except possibly Mike Schmidt. (You could legitimately criticize Cole Hamels for not following a good offseason regimen one year; no such qualms with Chase.)

I'm sorry you have to see him go and honestly I'm hoping his professionalism is the kind of kick our team needs to get their heads out of their butts.

I had Chase on my fantasy team a while back so I remember he had some health issues. I guess the ankle was to blame.

Hopefully he can come here and put us in a position to win.

Maikel Franco one of two rookies filing grievances against their team, claiming the Phillies manipulated his service time to give them another year to control him before he becomes a Free Agent. On the face of it, the data is damning:

Kris Bryant - Chicago - was on the ML roster for 171 days.
Franco was on the ML roster for 170 days.

Service year kicks in at 172 days.

In his last 41 games this season (since returning from fouling a ball off his face and fracturing his jaw), Rhys Hoskins has...
    47-162 (.290)
    22 walks vs. 37 Ks (.378 OBP)
    10 doubles
    14 home runs
    .611 slugging
    30 runs
    39 RBI

He has now played 143 career games, and check out these crazy numbers vs. other players through 162 games:

    Runs
    Trout 136
    Judge 119
    Sanchez 106
    Hoskins 95
    Stanton 82

    Doubles
    Stanton 36
    Judge 36
    Hoskins 31
    Trout 30
    Judge 21

    Home Runs
    Sanchez 50
    Judge 43
    Hoskins 38
    Stanton 38
    Trout 33

    Walks
    Judge 114
    Hoskins 93
    Sanchez 68
    Trout 62
    Stanton 59

    RBI
    Sanchez 124
    Hoskins 115
    Stanton 100
    Judge 97
    Trout 93

Hoskins has a legit shot at finishing 3rd in runs, 2nd in home runs, 2nd in walks, and first in rbi. Those are some big names.

    Doubled twice and walked once.

He's up to 33 doubles and 95 walks.

I'm not sure any players have had 100 doubles, walks, and rbi in their first 100 games, but let me check.
