That makes it sound like he was our target here all along

If I had never seen any mock drafts and I could only judge based on highlight reels, I would have guessed that Lewis was the FRP and JHS was the SRP.

Obviously that doesn’t mean much and shows why armchair scouting based on highlight reels is often so misguided, but man Lewis looks to have a lot of potential just based on his frame and skillset.

Summer League is going to be fun!

This looks like more the shrewd pick our scouts are known for. I would not be surprised if he has the more immediate impact than JHS.

I wonder if he really was the target or just a contingency plan.

This is another phenomenal pick. We are going to be stacked for the here and now as well as the future. This is what I like seeing. Both picks show a lot of talent awareness by our scouting department. After looking these players over I like them both better than the players I was pushing for. Nice work.

Really like this pick. Once he gets in the weight room with Handy working with him, the sky’s the limit.

These are great picks. I am sure they will be able to contribute relatively soon. The future is bright! :)

Well Buss looks very happy about getting Lewis after watching him live 10 times. And like brother Jim for some reason ALWAYS has a baseball cap on.

I am sure they will as well. The level and amount of basketball players play now is astounding. I have listed a bunch of things off before so I won't do it again but basketball is an all year sport now. Players coming into the NBA need to add strength but they have played so much ball they aren't scared or nervous. They don't have to be babied. We are starting to stack up some high character guys that are well rounded players and have a professional mind set. As good as our trade deadline trade was most of those players were limited which is why we were able to get them. I really like having players you don't have to take out for a certain team or sit during the fourth. My thinking as a coach is that you have to start building these players right away so by playoff time they are prepared. Plus it puts pressure on players like Vando to improve on the limited areas of their game. Another well thought out draft.
