I still love Mitch, but this is funny in an all too true kind of way.

So depressing that him and Mozgov will be here for years to come.

People may have been able to predict a decline in Deng's overall play, but nobody saw him coming in out of shape and coasting. Everything I've ever heard was that he was a professional. What a complete disappointment. Hopefully his pride kicks in and he earns even a fraction of his salary next year.

all the bounce back stuff is just talk, same talk you hear from washed up players every summer.

the stuff about playing the 4 was more interesting. i didn't realize he wanted that. if he's the primary backup 4, maybe he can be worth half his salary. but that means randle or nance isn't. which means one would have to be moved in a deal to upgrade another position.

in any case, i think deng's at the bottom of the list of concerns. assume it's dead money and make moves accordingly.

All this talk about working hard would be easier to believe if that's what he did during the regular season. That white board photo of work out totals of team players during the year tells a different story.

Exactly. Not only was Deng one of the worst in his body fat percentage, but he looked the part. Then he was among the worst on the team in the competitive fields they did. Maybe this was hard for him to take, but I don't care. He took the money and a person of integrity doesn't take the money and get fat.

I'd rather have Randle/Nance Jr. at the 4 than Deng. I could see a small ball lineup with something like Russell/Clarkson/Ingram/Deng/Randle being effective, but only if Deng or Ingram could actually shoot outside. Defensively you'd ostensibly be able to switch most everything, but offensively it'd be a train wreck. I'd rather have Russell/Clarkson/Ingram/Randle/Nance out there anyway because Nance is more dynamic. There's not much that Deng gives a team at the 4 that we don't already have in cheaper, more athletic bodies.

Deng came here to provide leadership and play the 4......

And he's all out of leadership.

When I overpay my leadership veterans, I want them properly demonstrating how to make excuses for poor performances.
