This sounds like something OX would have said last year during the season. ;) Then when it was explained and the actual procedure had to be done because there actually was some damage and now the reports are the organization is happy with the progress and we see Lonzo out there jumping and playing in soft scrimmages .... even OX wouldn't crack on him now. (I think). Let the Professionals handle his recovery!! Zero need to crack on Lonzo at this point as if he is being a puss. They are just being super careful with ALL the young valuable guys being handled like this. Ingram too at the end of the season and don't forget they only wanted Josh Hart to play no more than one or two games in SL until he talked them out of that. But he wasn't coming off scope surgery. Nothing to see here ..... move along.

I know you watched it but that answer to if he's gonna be ready for the season was so much of a "you never know" than Rob being legitimately unsure. Unless he gets hurt again or has a set back I guarantee he will be ready for Game 1 of the regular season. He's 100% cleared by all medical staff and the only reason they aren't playing him 5 on 5 yet is because they don't want to just throw him out there after 4-5 months off.

He's not still recovering. He more or less just getting back up to speed.

Which is different than how it was presented to us earlier. Earlier it was presented as he's not ready and still recovering. If that were the case, red flags go up. That's been my point all along.

If he's medically cleared, then I understand and support him being brought along slowly. With a guy who has shown to be fragile, it's important he gets his kinetic chain balanced so that he doesn't hurt himself again. Unfortunately that means likely missing some of the pre-season which is still disappointing.

I really don't care, honestly. Just get 100% healthy and when he does we'll see him out there. Better safe than sorry. In the meantime Rondo can run the show. That's the value of securing a veteran backup PG this summer. Good move by the FO.

Not just any veteran, its Rondo. I'd still be nervous about our PG rotation if we got Jameer Nelson or Aaron Brooks or any veteran like them.

Absolutely. Rondo was a pretty huge pick up really.

Less of a political issue when he's benched, which might have happened anyway.

I'm a "Lonzo is the future" guy, but it's probably best for him to play behind Rondo this year. Little less pressure, gives him more run with Kuz and Josh. He can learn by watching Rondo up close, and earn his stripes.

Right, and you don't want the cringeworthy media coverage if Lonzo is starting whilst being outperformed or some such. I think luke was probably hoping for an external reason to choose a starter here.

Always could see that his upper body had the frame and start of him being able to get BIG up top. Let's hope his so far injury jinxed first year legs keep up with that development.

    Two takeaways.

Zo added some weight now let's see him use it.
    No more five word answers.
