This is why it's all on Leonard now to not go P**** P and instead stay strong and adamant through the proper non public channels with his agent and the Raptors that he is not sticking around. He's leaving for L.A. Lakers after the season. No 2 ways about it. The heavy lifting has been done by Toronto with getting him out of SA. Now it is so close Kawhi should be able to smell it if he truly wants to be a Laker, and he should not want to lose valuable assets off our deep roster. Time to walk the talk Kawhi. Let's see first if you're still that guy and are still capable of MVP type performance in real games, not simply passing trade physicals.

i mean, yes, but...i'm over it. we got major burned on george, and i'm not interested in hanging out waiting for things not to work in toronto. if he comes, he comes. if not, we're fine. plenty of fish in the sea when you're in our current position. lebron signing was so huge.

Right, but the only pr hit worse than trading Kawhi is for him to walk away and they get nothing in return. Franchise goes from #1 in the east to one year later having your best star being Kyle Lowry and Drake.

If we get Kawhi as a result of not signing PG then it's a blessing in disguise that he shunned us, not a burn. There is also Durant and Klay out there next year as well as others. OKC sure didn't look like a contender with PG and Russ last year. This, I feel is more of a good-karma thing like when we were forced to give up D'Angelo to get rid of Mozgov's contract and got a high pick that turned into Kuzma. We'll get a better player by being patient.

Regarding his statement that he finally made I found it interesting and pleasing that he doesn't once say he's looking forward to a good year with Toronto or is excited about that opportunity/future.

I'm normally fine holding your hoof on things, Ox...but this one is pretty easy to figure out.

Jumpman (Jordan brand) ain't extending Kawhi's sneaker deal this October. Kawhi's camp didn't like the extension deal, so he's going to be a sneaker free agent.

Christmas games get a ton of viewership/exposure.

Kawhi's camp doesn't only want a more lucrative shoe deal, they want a large market to increase awareness for Kawhi's personal brand. Toronto ain't that and getting shut out from nationally televised games on a nationally celebrated holiday isn't helping sell Kawhi in staying there.

You'll probably increase the national games if you do go there, but bruh, cLips have 0 games on ESPN/ABC, 3 games on TNT and 12 games on NBATV. You really want to choose the cLips over us next summer, Kawhi?

So are they going to fire the dude that decided to make those t-shirts to re-up Blake, only to dump his contract 6 months later?

Btw Bowen is a scumbag, so either way good riddens.

Toronto has to trade him, unless he commits to them, if they have clippers and lakers at the table. The clippers make it likely that the lakers will make a deal rather than wait it out to free agency. Toronto needs to leverage any Clippers vs Lakers energy for Kawhi. Ask them to make offers and try to luck out on getting more than you thought.

Clippers will try and get him at the deadline because they know they have no other path of getting him otherwise.

Lakers will need to step up at the deadline unfortunately....and I'm OK with it.

Best offer they'll get at the deadline

Deng, 2 first round picks, rights to Bonga. That's it. Or wait till free agency when we can have him for free with LeBron recruiting.

hahaha. I would rather fire myself as owner, rehire myself and work in the mailroom for my own franchise than trade for Deng, 2 worthless picks and a player I am not sure even knows how to play basketball.

Assuming Kawhi is still Kawhi it's going to take 1 (only not both) of Wagner or Svi added to Bonga and Deng, who by that time have shown in games hopefully how much game they have both shown flashes they have in SL. But not both of them hopefully. Along with Deng to make the money work. Plus whatever Rob the Shark can sell Toronto on draft picks. That is still a whole lot better for us than including even 1 of BI, Kuz, Zo or Hart.
