I hope LeBron tampered enough this weekend to convince him to come over.

But in all seriousness, dude wants a bit of the spotlight while avoiding it at the same time. The Clippers are the perfect combination, since you get to be in LA without being the center of attention all the time. You also don't have to be LeBron's #2 (really, anyone in the NBA is going to be #2 to LBJ at this point).

I hope we can get a meeting at least, and work that magic (pun intended) to the fullest. But we have to be real with ourselves and recognize logically, we are a #3 option at this point, behind the Clippers and the Raptors.

We should hope Embiid or Giannis can do away with the Raptors in the 2nd round. That will help our case. Cause the only draw of Toronto atm is winning.

i think it can if the team they are going to doesn't have cap room to sign, but can match salary right? Or do that matter?

you miss reading my pt....back in the day teams use to be able to SnT a player so player had incentives to agree to do it so they could get their BIRD RIGHTS ver. of their contract rather than just a regular FA. The post I was replying to wasn't implying that but more of a way for us to get both those guys via SnT but for those said players the team that has their bird rights might not be inclined to do a SnT because we're the lakers and 2ndly if we get 1 or the other signed we obviously dont have cap space for the 2nd guy so the other team wont be doing us any favors IMO even if we throw them players like Ball or Ingram, etc.

I also firmly believe had it all worked out this summer gone, we could of rolled out with those 2 and LeBron.

Don't know if I've just become used to players passing on us, but I've pretty much accepted Kawhi is not going to come here.

It's not about accepting at this point. I don't even look at him as a remote possibility. I think the only dude we have a shot at in that upper tier is Kyrie, and that's only because the guy is flaky as hell and could wake up one morning in July and be like, "I always liked the Getty Museum. I'm gonna sign with the Lakers."

yeah, durant has almost come out and said he won't play here. thompson HAS come out and said he wants to stay. leonard always had us even with or behind LAC, and either of those is unlikely if toronto goes to the conference finals, imo.

kyrie could happen, for several reasons, but i think it hinges heavily on how boston shows in the playoffs. again: they go to the conference finals, you have to think he stays and they trade for davis.

by the time all this plays out, kemba will be off the board, imo. so, can-kicking it is.
