If I was Zu, I would be kind of pissed.

Bogut is not in our longterm plan and he has done nothing for me to say "thank god we have him"...I would cut Bogut out of the rotation. On the other hand its also tough to play Zu because in this day and age slow non-athletic Cs are just not "in".

But last year, even slower, less athletic Zu somehow managed 7.5/4.5/1 in 38 game @ 16mpg shooting over 50%.

bogut knows his role and plays it. set screens, deliver hard fouls around the basket, grab boards, make passes within the offense. zu came in the game and just started jacking up shots, looking generally clueless. he's got to mature mentally as much as physically.

I wonder how much he gave up (To be fair)

Intrigued with his talent, but that was a disappointing showing for sure.

I still feel like he played the way a frustrated young kid would play and his teammates kept feeding him the ball on purpose anyway. I'm not terribly upset about it, but it wasn't a mature showing. We've got to remember the kid doesn't even turn 21 until March.

But I agree completely about Bogut. He's a shadow of his former self, but he's going to get in there and do the dirty work gladly without expectation of reward. That's an important trait for a team like this. It sets a useful tone. Certainly much more useful than a kid coming in and jacking up shots like he's never played organized ball in his life.

I don't think any meaningful evaluation can occur with 2 minutes garbage time play in the last 5 games on a youngster big like Zu. He needs to be moved to G league now so he doesn't stagnate like this. Picking apart those 2 mins of play is pointless.

He doesn't have the luxury of playing through his mistakes like the rest of the youth on this team.

I'm okay with Bogut getting minutes instead of Zu. I trust Bogut more and he's better at setting screens and knows when to be in the right areas defensively. Bogut is not going to be back with this team so this isn't anything permanent.

I like Zu, but this isn’t a tanking year where we throw kids out there to try and figure it out. If we suck, the C Bags get a great draft pick, so we need to try and win every single game we can to stop that and to look good to free agents. IMO Bogut makes us better and makes us more likely to win. He’s a smart passer, sets great dirty picks, blocks shots, and knows where to be on offense. If Zu earns his minutes, he will get them. More likely though, much as I hate to say it, he’ll get them when Bogut inevitably gets injured.

Bogut has a ring. He's been an important part of an NBA championship team. That doesn't suck.

i was responding to the idea that he should play instead of bogut. i think that's crazy. put him in the jv until somebody gets hurt.

I was a fan of Zubac until he came to the first SL game out of shape. I just find that inexcusable. Send him back to the G-league to get that arrogance out of him.

I kinda miss watching the big Zuuu play... Luke needs to at least start taking out brewer and moving kcp, Ingram, or kuz to play with the second unit and have Randle and Zu play the front court. Zuu can run for a big man

I only see him getting time if BroLo misses time. I like the change up with Randle at the 5 that we get with the bench unit. Memphis' Coach Fisdale called us, more specifically the bench line up, as being fastest in the league.

Yep. I'm not giving Zubac minutes right now unless I have to. We've got a good thing going.

He's clearly better than the competition in the G-League, but I'm just no longer certain he's a fit for what we're doing.

I'd be happy if we installed him in the rotation. I'd also be okay with using him as a way to clear cap space.

I see Thomas Bryant as a better fit for what we are trying to do. Shame since Zubac has such talent and potential for where we drafted him. I do think we will keep him around because who knows with Bogut and BroLo injury history and its nice to still have a 7 footer on the team if they go down.
