Bottom line is he didn't improve in any aspect in his second year. Even his per 36 overall taken as a whole really didn't improve. he really was the only disappointment as a player on the whole damn team. When your job is on the line you come back with a Jules body.I don't care what he said his body fat was he looked soft. One of best attributes the first year was the soft hands and honestly his touch seemed to fade too.

He seemed to do ok with the increased minutes at the end there, maybe we play him a bit, try to showcase him in the 2nd unit and against scrubs then move him next deadline or summer with Deng's increasingly shorter term deal and a first round pick + other picks.

Yeah Zu's soft hands were Kwame like too often this year. Agree with everything you said. It's that 5 years older succubus he's with taking his basketball soul from him.

He hasnt reached his ceiling imo. He started showing some decent flashes down the stretch. Started running the floor better, looked like he rotated decently, showed effort. Still raw.

I liked him playing alongside a penetrating guard who could set him up for easy baskets, but he still finishes like a light skinned dude.

Zubac's salary is non-guaranteed...I am thinking we aren't picking it up.

I hope Shoebox is a cautionary tale to all our youngsters on what happens when you don't focus enough on training in the off season.

    ***signs with San Antonio***

We wonder what we were thinking....

Seems cheap enough to give another year. At least for me.

And there is the matter of quotas....

+1. Small ball change delayed further development imo. Don't think one more prove it deal hurts. He looked good in some spurts last year having a high fg %. He's just 21 and barely been here in the US for 2 years.

he'll be kept if the two-max doesn't come through, imo. nobody left on the market will be worth dropping his tiny salary.

i'd rather trade bryant, but sure. in truth, all of these options are equally likely to pan out.

regarding zu, though: let's not be prisoners of the moment. everyone thought he was marc gasol one year ago. now everyone thinks he should be pumping gas. the truth is somewhere in between.

prisoners of the moment II: everyone is also going a little gonzo on centers being obsolete due to GS and houston's success without them. folks, those are two teams. one of whom employs two of the greatest shooters in the HISTORY of the game, the other that employs an all-time great pg and the refs' favorite player of all time. these are unique rosters that won't be duplicated easily.

in fact, phil jackson almost beat dantoni's last gimmick by using kwame brown at center. he dominated their tiny a**** with useless kwame brown. let that sink in. if kerr had options that weren't looney, bell, mcfuckinggee, and zaza, he might have been able to punish houston's ridiculous defensive scheme, too.

    be creative, people.

im not moving zu to keep pace with gsw/hou, id move zu cause hes slow, unathletic, n while he is decent shot blocker he has very little defensive awareness. Bryant also has those weakness but his 3pt shooting is a skill we can build on even if he pigeon holes himself into that role its valuable, not sure what value zu brings that we can build on

The fans didn't turn on Zubac because of Golden State. We turned on him because he came into camp out of shape and he failed to develop as a player. On a team with no legitimate backup Center, he couldn't get on the court.

...Zubac did show some potential and I like a few thought he could fill out his body, be somewhat of an above average big. Wasn't there a stretch after the Nance trade where put up respectable numbers? The game against Minny was one. He then seemed to fizzle out, moving down the rotation.

Waits for @LTLakerFan and the hot five year older girlfriend theory... :)
