He could go back to Pho again...they do need a starting pg n the team as a whole dont play much D anyway, so he'll fit right in
IT singlehanded killed any semblance of team basketball when he's on the floor. Sure he may make the occasional nice pass, but really only when he doesn't have an open shot. The ball doesn't move when he's on the floor, and it's worse when KCP is there chucking right beside him. These two are not the type of system players we need. Replace them with BI and Hart and you have a team again.
i'm not sure sac brings him in with fox in place. thomas hurt himself with his public statements against a bench role.
I can’t believe it’s been 16 games already, feels like a lifetime. “I’m not no 6th man”. Few days later:
Here's the article. LINK The last quote at the bottom of the article says it all. Bottomline. He does NOT want to be a 6th man. He'll only take a 6th man role if no other team gives him a better offer.
Of course. I, I, I, me, make a lot of money, be MVP, be an All Star, young guys in different place. Oh yeah.... and win a ring. Disclaimer to salty comment. Of course I "get it" and understand where he's coming from.
Actually what I took from that is he might be open to being the 6th man here again for a year in order to rebuild himself. That's what I was hoping from the beginning. It's tough to watch Isaiah right now knowing he's not 100%, but he still has that fiery attitude. I love the attitude in general, but seeing him fail to execute while also snapping at guys is a tough visual. However, I'd welcome him back in an instant as a 6th man candidate on a revamped team for us. Say we just got 1 max guy, I'd give him a decent one-year deal. Come here, be our 6th man, still close games and have a chance to shine again. If he can't do it, he stays in that role. If he excels, someone else pays him. I'm fine with that. If we end up getting two max guys and we have to choose between Isaiah and Lopez for the Room Exception, I choose Lopez 100/100 times, but I'd be totally fine finding a place for him if we don't.
This thread title keeps becoming more accurate. He’s not no 6th man, he’s more like an 11th man. It’s a net positive to keep his a** glued to the bench. Moronic turnovers, bad shots, can’t defend his own shadow.
This is why Boston did him dirty and he shoulda gone the Kawhi route. Spurs might not offer the super max, but still Kawhi protects himself from looking bad in a season where he can set himself and his family up with a lucrative deal. I still side with team friendly deals and star players taking less to make an all around deep title contending team, but if shiesty front offices won't honor a player trying to help the team through an injury, then said player should protect themselves from losing millions in the process. It's clear IT isn't all the way right and playing through his injury for the C bags last postseason hurt his recovery even more. He recruited for that team and played through personal loss and injury for that dirtbag organization... All for naught. Im pretty sure he's not part of the plans here (unless its an unfortunate contingency), but I'm hoping we're more classier than those C bags in handling him this summer. And here's to wishful thinking that other Lakers fans are too (although i understand that's it's a tough request).
Oh darn! I mean that is really too bad. I am so disappointed, I don’t know how I’m gonna get over this or even watch these games. Well..if I have to, I guess I can power through, muster up the strength and such. That really is too bad though, just gosh darn it!
i wonder if we'll run wear or bryant at pg before ennis gets much more run. he...has not made the most of his opportunity...
The good news about this injury to the hip or just needing time to rest. This should make it crystal clear that bringing IT back even on a one year deal is nonsense.
