We are constantly getting destroyed because we keep playing this stupid small ball BS.

    STOP.

It’s not working and we need a paint presence to defend down the stretch. What’s the point of getting a Lopez or Bogut if we’re not going to play them?

This bothers me more than basically anything else. I'm not sure how much of this is on Luke and how much is on poor execution by the players. Luke seemed genuinely frustrated with the players last night defensively, it's possible our guys just failed. But with that many days off, we should have blown out a shoddily assembled and injured Clipper team.

We go into these games looking unprepared. How does that happen?

I don't know. But Luke not admitting any culpability last night and just blaming the players when his lineups were godawful, our starters doing exactly what they used to do when Larry was in before (i.e., not score and dig us a nice big hole), it all seemed familiar. Like Byron in fact.

His statement that Larry was our best player last night was delusional. I have a feeling that if we do land a top tier free agent or two Walton's days will be numbered and we will get an upgrade in the coaching department. Harsh, but how I feel right now.

This is loss is on Luke. Terrible rotations. Cost us this game for sure.

I feel so dejected after this loss...a game that we should have had and a game that i believe we were favored to win.

We won't make the playoffs but winning as many games as possible is very important if we want to attract some key players in FA .

Winning 35 games would have quite a different impact than the likely 28 (imo) with the current type of coaching .

We can't be horrible forever ... and none of our prospects is a future franchise player ... this is the sad truth

relying on a bunch of 20 year olds? just not sure what luke can do here. on offense, he can't force brook and lonzo to make wide open shots.

on defense, the only savvy vet role players he has are bogut and brewer (who's not always that savvy). it only takes one guy out of position/sleeping to give up a bucket, and some of the guys doing that are guys we sort of can't bench. hell, everyone wants to bench nance despite him being one of the only guys who's doing most of the right things out there.

I agree, but there's things that he can control. Why are we so ill prepared for Lou Williams? I mean he was with us a year ago. We should have every scouting report on him that exists. I'm sure you were with me and with Stu calling out exactly what Lou was going to do. I'm on board that the kids might not be executing, but I'm not seeing enough from Luke to convince me.

Really not sure why we didn't see more of JC, Kuz & Randle in the 4th against the Clipps.
All of those guys were having solid games.

Seriously though. The only thing I can assume is that they were not executing things on the Defensive end that he was asking for, so he benched them, but the lineup he put out there was still getting torched by Lou.. IDK

Luke completely lost me with that last game. The Sacto loss was a bummer but hey it happens, GS just lost to them. This was one was pretty inexcusable and the lineups were just detrimental to start and finish the game. When he praised Larry as the best player on the floor when he was a team worst -18 on the floor I just had to scratch my head. Larry failed to stop Lou Williams' last two game winning drives on switches. The only guy who was good on Lou Williams all night ironically was Randle on switches. But he wasn't in the game when it hung in the balance at the end.

At least one point of discussion/debate seems to be concluded though. It seems pretty clear that Randle's benching doesn't have to do with the FO trying to pinch pennies, but that Luke really does favor Larry Nance Jr.

True to an extent ... The likes of Tatum , Brown are doing very well defensively in a team concept .

    How old are they ?

It doesn't matter ... If both lineups are getting torched defensively , leave the one on the floor who can score .

You can win a game by outscoring your opponent , this one was one of them .
