with his length I would've thought he'd easily be the type of player that can avg 1 asst and 1 blk a gm. how come his stl avg are so meager?

    I don't know.

Maybe he's not practicing enough. Maybe he's still learning as he goes. Maybe his diet doesn't have enough updog in it.

The guy is already 20 years old why hasn't he performed like prime Scottie Pippen? I mean is it too much to ask for a guy heralded as untouchable?

    Speaking of "unique" .....

On 2/2, Brandon Ingram took over the starting point guard responsibilities. What followed was the best basketball of his career. In this video, I take a deep dive into that 7-game stretch, & how he can keep it going when Lonzo returns.

Hoping to have an Ingram video out tomorrow morning, about his recent games at PG. Here's a quick snapshot. He's raised the set point on his jumper a bit, so it's not as much of a slingshot motion coming from the side of his head. It's still there, but not as exaggerated.

Mid-range shot is looking very, very good lately. He's becoming extremely dependable with his scoring.

Most improved Player? I think so. He sucked as a rookie, now he can hang with Durant.

Ingram is not rushing his shot...good rotation and smooth follow through. They are not rattling in. Ingram is arguably our best all around player.

    Run the offense? Check.
Cover the opponent's scoring threat 1 to 3? Check.
Provide points without volume shooting? Check.

Rather than needing to be babysat because he's 20? Said only because my hope is PG and PG's agent are taking note of what's brewing in L.A. with the young talent rather than looking only at chronological age.

Aside from the steady all around game that is beginning to be the norm...two things stood out for me. That block off the baseline shot by I believe Matthews and seeing that pass into the post for Barnes that led to a steal. Ingram also had active hands deflecting passes by Smith and Barea.

His drives also are looking smooth...so in control. Ingram also knew when to defer to Thomas when they were on the floor.

Efficient. Control. Leader. When things start to go awry, they really do look to BI to set the tone.

It's now a slightly larger sample size of nine games:

    18.3 points
    4.7 rebounds
    5.6 assists
    0.6 steals
    0.9 blocks
    2.3 turnovers
    53.4 FG% (7/13.1)
    54.5 3P% (1.3/2.4)
    79.4 FT% (3/3.8)
    34.2 minutes

Literally only one other player in the league right now with 18/4.5/5.5/50% on the season: LeBron James.

    The kid is playing PHENOMENALLY.

This is where I really don’t want LeBron on the Lakers. LeBron would have the ball in his hands so often that it would stunt both Ingram and Lonzo’s growth and development.

If Paul George came by himself, it wouldn’t be that big of an issue because PG isn’t as ball dominant and would fill up the usage currently received from KCP and Thomas.

Having said that, would any of us really be surprised if only George came and Ingram’s stat line becomes:

    - 23 ppg/6rpg/5apg/1blk/2stl on 50 fg%/38% 3pt%?

Why I throw out these numbers is because that’s what Kawhi Leonard put up just 2 seasons ago. Think about that perspective of what’s to come.

We just can’t mess it up by stunting his growth if we become the LA LeBrons

LeBron will keep Ingram from developing... Yeah...

    I'll take that chance.

You don't stunt a guy like Ingram. On the contrary - He might be able to learn something useful from LeBron. But yeah, he's phenomenal right now.
