    Lol, I can see Magic saying to the other guys, "Why can't you guys all be more like Brandon? He's the only one of you who ain't fat and works on his game ALL the time. "

    :Laugh::Noddingyes:

    Obviously they see a focus and dedication that they don't with the others.

    Yup heard Magic in espn 710 with Keyshawn George and LZ

    He definitely talked up BI as a foundational piece but not the other young guys.

    Really emphasized getting in shape. Big time cardio says that is what separates Warriors and Cavs. I think he said Randle needs to lose 20 pounds which had me saying wow! Wanted JC to be a defensive stopper ... good luck. DLo can be a great player but is he committed.

    Zu doesn't need to lose 20lbs. He needs to transform that 20 from baby fat to man muscle.

    DLO's focus is the only issue. talent is there. Randle needs to be in shape, no doubt. Clarkson played amazing D at the beginning of the year, then he got lazy. Clarkson is a lazy player too. His speech in interviews are like watching my 4 year old answering questions. Randle is even worse. His brain is in the trees.

    I would agree with this. JC was a 4 or 5 year college player who was taken mid 2nd round, he's pretty much maximized his talent. I see effort on D from him, he's just not very smart at it, and on offense he tends to get tunnel vision.

    Tunnel vision is laziness. Loss of focus is laziness. In the end it's basketball. They don't need to be rocket scientist's.

    I don't think it's laziness, I think it's lack of natural basketball IQ, court awareness. It's not necessarily lazy to not have good passing vision or know where to be on defense, he's just not that smart a player. He goes all out when he's out there, he plays at full speed, yet he's still a step behind on D or lost on offense because he doesn't have that feel that separates the good/decent from the very good. That's why I say he's maximized his potential, he's seemingly reached his ceiling. It's not a bad ceiling for where he was drafted though, or what he's paid, if he had a higher one he wouldn't have went where he did in the draft.

    Pretty much. I know you are kidding but the irony is that it is pretty accurate.

    I would say only Ingram, Ennis, Nwaba, Brewer, T-Rob don't fall into that category

    This. People confuse basketball IQ (or any sport IQ for that matter) with actual IQ. I played soccer my whole life (I still try to), and I've played with some idiots that somehow were always in the right place at the right time. I've also played with some highly intelligent individuals that did some of the dumbest things imaginable on the field.

    I also think Clarkson has sort of peaked. He can get a little better and a little smarter (as most players do get smarter as they approach their late 20's, but the dude is already 25 (in a few days). When we talk about our young kids, he's not really that young.

    i've been banging the hoop iq =/= "general cognitive ability as traditionally defined" for some time.

    but they are similar in that each is fairly resistant to attempts at change (particularly enhancement).

    i don't think clarkson is lazy. i think dlo's lazy. i think randle and clarkson are energetic but don't understand how to deploy it in a team basketball setting. dlo understands, he just doesn't always feel like it.
