Great point. We’ll know by July 6th whether or not we’re getting a max FA. Heck, the top guys will be signed by then. If we sign a max FA we finalize the trade after July 30. If we miss on a max FA we finalize the trade July 6 and move onto tier 2 FAs with our $24 mil or whatever.

Another complication could be what New Orleans does with #4. If they flip it to another team, that team may push to finalize the trades on the 6th to make sure that player can get summer league experience.

From LG: Usually LG vets these guys, but take it with a grain of salt.

Rondo’s defense was garbage, and there were a lot of times where he got to the hoop and passed up an open layup to kick out to a “shooter”. The rumors about him going assist hunting turned out to be entirely true. He’s also incredibly careless with his passing and has some of the laziest turnovers I’ve ever seen. Do not want him back, he was badly outplayed by friggin Alex Caruso.

I wish we could get the best of both worlds and sign a 2nd tier player like Khris Middleton and still have money left over for Seth Curry etc.

I don't see us not trying to get another max guy. Will we? I don't know, but I'd imagine if Kawhi/Kyrie/Kemba/etc say yes I want to play for you guys, we aren't going to let this really hold us back.

Kawhi, Kyrie or Jimmy will be on the Lakers come early July. That is a fact. My money is on Kawhi there is just too much smoke there to deny it.

Lebron and Rich Paul have a master plan in motion right now. Lebron goes through his worst season (not him personally but Lakers overall and he is as care free as possible. Why?

Because Lebron/Rich Paul hold all the cards and they aren’t done yet.

Not sure who he is, but Pincus follows him so I’m assuming he knows what he’s talking about.

Let’s say we sign a max FA like Kawhi. What are our payment options called and what amounts? MLE, room exemption, vet min, etc? Also, who are realistic targets to take these?

Re: Rondo, I'd take him back in a heartbeat for vet minimum. We need to fill out this roster.

I think we’d have the room exception which is about $5 million, and then vets minimums.

Maybe unrealistic but I would hold out hope we could get Curry or Beverly with the room exception and then MAYBE convince someone like Danny Green to take a minimum deal to follow his buddy Kawhi for another championship.

Then bring back Rondo and McGee for the minimum too and we’re set for the most part.

I’d love those guys. I think Curry’s getting paid this summer. He showed his worth in the playoffs. He should get $15 mil. Beverly is realistic but he’s very loyal and seemed to take pride in being the underdog clippers. He’s not one to ring chase.

If we sign a max sg, here are realistic pgs:
    Collison, rondo, rose, Rubio

If we sign a max pg, here are realistic sgs:
Redick, kcp, shumpert, green, lance, bullock, Ellington, Brewer

We’ll also need a cheap center:
DJ(paycut to chase rings), brolo, Noel, Javale, cousins
