Not a bad first showing for us from IT. His basket attacking is still a little suspect (that hip injury) but as long as that shot keeps going down, we'll be fine on that end. It's just going to have to take time for the other end to work itself out.
Obviously when Thomas is in. The defense has to change the strategy for him. But overall he did good considering no practice and barely met the team 12 hours prior to the game. Things will settle down after the all star break when they get some good practices together. My only gripe however from the game was hart not getting any playing time in the 4th. He's earned that
We have three days off, a back to back, the ASG and another 4 days off for IT (and Ball) to get some practice in and develop chemistry with everyone else. I say we'll look better then. The back to back is going to be tough against Pels and Minny.
let's just sit back and enjoy IT's offense for the rest of the season which could certainly help us win some games
At least Thomas is taking the leadership reins... They still should not gravitate too much from Ingram setting the table as the point forward. Let him set-up Thomas as opposed to the latter playing iso.
Its very interesting to hear him talk about how while in CLE they never practiced. And IT brought up a great point that because of that he had to try and get all his rhythm back during Live games which just isn't normal when trying to come back from the type of injury he had. He's looking forward to practicing with our young guys and in turn I think that will help him get his groove back faster then trying to figure/get it back only during game days. He also said his hip and how he feels compared to last year and the years before is probably around 75-80%.
