Felt the same way about Bron until he carried LA through Kobe's death. I would've accepted CP because it would've extended Kobe's career and gotten us at least 1 more title.
you don’t think FISH was a true elite PG ? Kobe was the primary ball handler . Kobe was the shot caller , no PG was going to take over that role .
I'm having trouble picking up your tone here. Are you suggesting Fish was an elite pg, or are you asking in a sarcastic manner? Cause Fish sucked. People remember that he hit some clutch shots, but the only reason we needed those shots is because he got torched on the other end on a nightly basis. There are dudes that set up generational wealth because they blew up Fish in the playoffs for a massive payday. He was anything but elite. He was bottom tier, but hit open shots on a team with the greatest player of his generation as well as Shaq/Pau.
Why would any “ ELITE” PG wanna play for the LAKERS, when Kobe is the one with the ball dictating the tempo …
OK. I just couldn't tell if you were insinuating Fish was elite. I was like, "Wait. Did he just say..."
Propensity for missing layups too, but I loved Fish. Actually hit a ton of big shots. And that play in Boston in the finals the year we won when he took the ball almost the length of the court to lay it up and in with 3 of those green ogres all over him at the rim was worth cancelling out a bunch of the blown layups. Also for this of course:
Possibly, but hard to say who else he might have played with had he not come here, for championships. He was certainly immensely skilled and "elite" though.
that may be true . But he made this shot .. you didn’t pull up the stat sheet after that shot did you ?
his three against orlando and the and-1 against boston in the finals in consecutive years were huge, the latter sort of iconic and incredible.
