max shot 42 and 36% in his first two years. gabe's never been great from distance, but he hasn't been nearly this bad. just gotta hope they both find a rhythm within the offense, as they can both defend, and trading either will be tricky. i'm actually kind of glad that jj doesn't have great options, so max will have the chance to work it out on the floor. if ham's here, cam's getting max's minutes, like, tomorrow. i don't think that's the answer.
Who the Lakers need is a guy who can defend multiple guard positions, bring up the ball up the court, athletic to make up for AR/Dlo, and you have to guard on defense. One guy completely fits bill and he's on OK f***ing C instead of the team that drafted him, developed him, and refused to pay him. AC, AR, with AD, and Lebron jesus. THen you plug and play Rui or Knecht and you have some combos of lineups that I just don't think you can stop.
^ THIS Even years later, that one f***ing stupid move is still INFURIATING. Also, imagine Rob had made the trade for Hield and Turner. AR/AC/Hield/LeBron/AD/Turner would have been great.
The difference with me, is I have actually been a fan since 1960, when Jerry West was a rookie. I endured the end of the C Bags domination and witnessed us losing in years where we should have won. It sucked for sure. I want us to win but I am sure not going to end out like Jerry West did and tear my heart out. He was a mess. I hope we find a way to win it all but I will stick around for awhile if we don't. If we start clipping, then I could move on but I doubt that ever happens.
Actually Kings in 1966 didn't exist .Only original 6 played that year They got to NHL in 1967 as part of expansion among with 6 more teams ,but whatever .
LA Blades started in 1961 Then: On Feb. 9, 1966, the National Hockey League – sensing a possible merger between the WHL and the American Hockey League – awarded expansion franchises to Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis and San Francisco for the 1967–68 season. Jack Kent Cooke was awarded the Los Angeles franchise, which would be called the Kings; the Blades played their final game in April 1967. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Angeles_Blades_(WHL)
Sorry.Never knew about Blades ,only heard of Golden Seals from California and actually don't care about minors League, including AHL
This team cannot overcome an 11 point game by Bron, a 2-9 from 3 night from DLo, and 8 points from our “bench”. For the love god Bob Todd, DO SOMETHING. This isn’t sustainable, LeBron is almost 40, we are relying on a rookie in Knecht, not much further from a rookie in Max, a borderline NBA player in Hayes, and a decent, but very small Gabe. We literally have no one else to turn to but Reddish… I have to believe there is a small trade out there for some 2nd rounders that could help our bench. Vando and Wood are not around the corner to help, we have no idea when they will be back, and honestly with Vando, IF he’ll be back.
God this team needs Vando or just one defensive guard whose not a midget like bless him Gabe. Lebron sucked but would have pulled it out if they had just another dude who could play defense. Phoenix just picked on Dlo and then Gabe with Durant all night
Christie isn't a SF; he's been the first sub off the bench for LBJ and the lead suddenly shrinks when he's getting minutes. We need Wood and Vando back. Ireland said he saw Vando on the elevator today and he was going to the gym; he also added he doesn't have a walking boot and the Lakers are just being extra careful trying to to look long-term and make sure he's healthy come end of the year. Wood would help, too. While Hayes has been making an effort, he just isn't very good. Here's hoping their both back sooner rather than later...
We lost this game because of a bad bench. Due do that, we can't absorb a bad game from key starters. With DLo and Lebron both off, it was a struggle to win this one.
I mentioned this in the Dlo thread but they need to find a Dante Exam type - everything else is cooking. I think the bench scoring won't be much of an issue once JJ can fully integrate Knect into the rotation and he gets his rookie jitters out of the way. Got to be some combo guard who is athletic enough to play defense, hit some open 3's and bring the ball up the court. Lakers almost found one last year in Dinwiddie who just was a little too old by the time he got here. Honestly my head keeps going back to Bruce Brown - he's doesn't work in Toronto but with a team like the Lakers he's like a perfect fit. Guards 1-3, has hit open 3's in big games, can bring up the ball, sets good screens.
whomever we sub for lebron is going to be a massive downgrade. that said, i think having vando or wood as options would help us right now. vando's a tough one, as we've sort of moved on to a different formula. my opinion is still that dlo/reaves/vando/lebron/AD is elite as as starting unit, but we may never see it again. i get why, but still i lament the loss. AD gets some respect, but not superstar respect from officials.
The bolded is obvious; however, it shouldn't be that big where we're blowing double-digit leads; his splits are awful with almost every lineup combination. Small sample size I know, but we need an upgrade. Rui has cemented his starting spot particularly if he continues to play this way; and if we've found a different formula and Vando doesn't mesh, then trade him and find who does...
